ACI Tau Class Medical Frigate, produced by Ares Combat Industries

The Tau acts as the navy’s transport for wounded people. The ship primarily takes injured soldiers and civilians from the front lines to the nearest haven where they can receive further treatment. The DRO’s primary military medical facility lies on Aressia’s moon of Thelos. Most military patients are brought there for more complicated surgeries and for the rehabilitation progress, due to the sterile environment that can be created on the moon unlike on the planet itself. Even though the Tau is classified as a military vessel it is not made for combat and only possesses Point Defense weaponry in order to fend off smaller attackers and missiles. Other uses of the ship also include providing First Aid to planets stations in need as well as small cargo runs between remote locations. Several small settlements throughout the Alpha Orionis system have praised the Tau because is provides basic medical procedures to the populace where permanent hospitals and clinics are too expensive to operate.
