Weapons of Mass Destruction

Description
Adds many new weapons for the game focusing mainly on large designs. Features weapons like the mighty Gustav Cannon, Suspendium Deathray and Vulcan turret among many others. Some weapons are more balanced while others are intentionally overpowered.

Adds 39 new modules to the game:

-Autocannon: Rapid firing cannon
-Big Bob: Super heavy bomb
-Blunderbuss: Shotgun like infantry weapon
-Cruise Missile: Cross between a rocket and a torpedo
-Gustav Cannon: Ultra-heavy cannon
-Heavy Autocannon: Heavier version of the Autocannon
-Heavy Bomb Bay: Heavier version of the Bomb bay
-Imperial Scattergun: Imperial Cannon sized grapeshot cannon
-Large Twin Suspendium Chamber: Two suspendium chambers combined into one
-Monster Harpoon: Super-heavy harpoon gun
-Multirockets: Rapid firing rocket launcher platform. Based on real life Katyusha rocket launcher
-Suspendium Deathray: Deadly but fragile doomsday weapon
-Vulcan Turret: Overpowered autocannon that is based on real life GAU-8 Avenger autocannon
-Assault Drill: Similar to Saw Blade. Shorter reach but better damage
-Huge Pressurised Suspendium Chamber: Giant lift generating module
-Monster Bombard : Super-heavy medieval era cannon. Based on real life Dardanelles gun
-Nose Turret: Flying Fortress styled frontal turret
-Suspendium Railgun: Heavy version of the suspendium cannon
-Tesla Coil: Lightning arc emitting close-range weapon
-Gustav Cannon Ammo Store: Optional ammo-part for the Gustav Cannon.
-Aerial Mines: Powerful floating mines for setting up aerial mine fields.
-Big Bertha: WW1 era super-heavy siege howitzer
-Karl Gerät Mortar: Super-heavy mortar. One of the largest (if not the largest) self-propelled mortars ever used.
-Little David: Super-heavy mortar. Largest calibre cannon ever built by Americans IRL
-Karl Gerät Ammo Store: Optional ammo-part for the Karl Gerät Mortar. (Module design is based on Panzer IV Munitionstrager / Ammo Carrier vehicle that was used for reloading the weapon in reality)
-Metal Storm: Based on real life Metal Storm weapon system that has rate of fire of over 1 million rounds per minute.
-Metal Storm 160: Maximum configuration of Metal Storm weapon system. Current real life record holder or highest rate of fire for any gun in the world with over 1,6 million rounds per minute.
-Bat Bombs: Exploding bats that will seek enemy crewmen inflicting damage to ships and crew.

Latest Additions to the mod (11 new modules):
-Chain Rocket Launcher: Rapid firing rocket launcher
-Cluster Cannon Turret: Heavy turret that fires cluster munitions
-Explosive Ram: Exploding ram weapon
-Frontal Gustav Cannon: Gustav Cannon that can placed like normal cannon
-Gustav Sponson: Sponson version of Gustav Cannon
-Sabot Cannon Turret: Heavy turret that fires sabot-rounds
-Side Mounted Chaingun Turret: Heavy side mounted machinegun
-Side Mounted Rocket Launcher: Sponson type rapid firing rocket launcher
-Sponson Sabot Cannon: Sponson that fires sabot rounds
-Sponson Shockwave Cannon: Sponson type cannon that fires wide area affecting shockwaves
-Sponson Vulcan Turret: Sponson version of Vulcan Turret

Other changes:
-Changed Metal Storm 1600 and Vulcan Turret to shoot airplanes / troops
-Fixed overlapping graphics between Gustav Cannon and Little David Cannon
-Fixed high ammo consumption of Autocannon and Heavy Autocannon

Additional developer note: Lots of new modules were added in one update so there is high change there might have slipped something that needs fixing. If you notice any errors or something that requires changing please inform that in the comments section as usual and I will look into it if necessary.

I mean this mod is complete, It can't be improved there's no complaint on the Gustav sponson existing other than it's funny.

I do think the Gustav feels a bit underpowered. But I must say I enjoy the complete mod. There's nothing that can be improved really or added spare for making another mod pack but- I don't think you're interested in that. So thank you for your work and the creation of this mod it's came out quite well. The Autocannon is my favorite weapon though, I wish the heavier version was a bit more... Stronger.

Adding to that last message: It's nice to see that this mod is still getting some attention even though I haven't been working on it for quite some time. I had lots of fun making the mod and it turned out to be surprisingly popular too.

I feel kinda bad leaving the mod to its current state, but it was originally supposed to just implement gustav cannon to the game so it has already achieved much more than I originally intended.

When experimenting with sponsons you will naturally think about all the possible options for the cannon type you would be using.

First thing that comes to mind is most likely something conservative like a auto-cannon or a rocket launcher. Suddenly you remember that this is a mod called weapons of mass destruction and it should be something more spicy. Then you look at the picture where all the stuff you have made so far are and notice this massive gun barrel in the center. You will then think that yeah, maybe the good old gustav would be spicy enough.

Next thing you know you are shooting 7-ton rounds from the side of your airship and thinking why didn't I think of that in the first place. :)

I helped with suggestions a very long time ago when you were still making this mod but I must say I absolutely adore your artwork. It's severely unlikely you'll continue but good job with the mod. I do think some things were nerfed into the ground (refer to the gustav, there's a lot worse mods out there and the gustav doesn't do all that much for some reason)

I do enjoy your attempt to balance the mod using cost & other changes. And though not everyone uses it, good job with its creation it's a must for me. I only have one question however which is in sync with the bottom comment.

Why, why did you make the gustav a sponson. Did gunther approve of this madness?

I'm sorry, it's been some time since I last played Airships and was checking what ships to make, but I will never emotionally recover from seeing Gustav-fucking-sponsons in the weapons list.
