Description
When you're operating a fledgling coat guard service, you need something cheap, reliable, light on maintenance, fuel efficient, can operate in virtually any weather known to man, and can be fueled by vodka if needed. Straight from the warehouses of a post-Soviet, eastern bloc country comes the answer you've been searching for: the SM-16 Sparrow.

The SM-16 is light, agile, and fast. Modern fleets have been stripped and repainted a more appropriate light blue for search and rescue squadrons (except for the Soviet star, which wouldn't come off, apparently). The Sparrow is small and light enough to be fast and nimble and also powerful enough to fulfill most medium-lift utility needs, like dumping boron enriched sand on an exposed nuclear core.

The SM-16 is a fictional helicopter of my own design that takes some subtle inspiration from various real life medium Soviet helicopters. I originally created it in career mode as a jet-powered helicopter that was capable of completing almost every mission. What started as a simple helicopter for a single save became a big enough project to warrant me putting it on the workshop for everyone else to enjoy.

Features:

-pilot seat
-rescue chief/winch operator seat
-8 seats in cabin
-rescue winch
-cargo winch
-altitude and position hold
-articulated searchlight
-gimballed camera with night vision
-touchscreen map and camera display
-large fuel capacity of 4688 L
-max. speed of 148kph
-soviet memorabilia
-stripes

This helicopter flies very well and responds quickly to control inputs. A throttle of 20-25 is recommended for stable flight. With the latest update, higher throttle speeds (and therefore RPM) have started causing the helicopter to jitter a little in flight. It happens to every helicopter, and it's not present most of the time, but becomes worse the higher the RPM is. Hopefully this will eventually get patched.

In the meantime, I hope you put this helicopter to good use!

I love your helicopters! They are really easy and stable to fly and perfect in almost all weather conditions! Would you be interested in doing a Sikorsky S92? It’s my favourite helicopter. (=
