Description

Please do not reupload this without my Permission.

This is the J-942-C "Chameleon" cargo aircraft. Most prominently it shares the same features as the Airbus Beluga cargo aircraft, as the Chameleon is based upon, however it is not a replica, nor has i tried to make it a replica.

This aircraft features a HFC, or High Fidelity Cockpit, which is a cockpit setup that tries to imitate the real life counterpart cockpit you'll find in most from 2C to 4E class aircraft. It does not simulate every single aspect of the real life counterpart, but as a standard for Stormworks it holds up.

This aircraft features, as follows:
  • High Fidelity Cockpit
  • Altitude Hold function (Courtesy of Xyadran)
  • Pilot-Copilot controlchange with a push of a button
  • Fuel Control
  • Fire Suppression System
  • Glass instruments (Courtesy of PenguinO)
  • Glass Engine Environment (Courtesy of jbaker96)
  • Flaps
  • Aircraft Annunciator

I have implemented PenguinO's radio navigation system, but that stands as a placeholder, for now atleast until ive gotten a hang of composite radios.

I am sure i'll add more systems to the aircraft as i go, however i wanted to get the creation flight- and workshop ready.

As an ending note, i want to thank the ever unending dedication to the developers of Stormworks for giving us regular updates nearly every week, and the recent performance update which made this creation possible, and with any luck and more dedication, more to come.

If you have any questions about the Chameleon, @ me on the Stormworks Discord, @Tesla, or comment below.

Cheers

Apparently this aircraft certifies for class [AP1 as]. Neato!

Below follow an "indept" tutorial, aswell as a startup checklist for the J-942-C "Chameleon"

  • 1: Tertiary fuel gauges. Shows fuel in Center, Right and Left wing, respectively.
  • 2: Fueldump masterswitches, which wing to dump fuel and dump from wing, or central fuselage.
  • 3: Cabin and cargocabin heaters. Switches for cargolights, worklights.

  • 4: Aircraft Announciator, gives warning when some conditions are met, like sinkrate, low altitude, and turbine 1-2 low fuelpress etc.
  • 5: Shows Turbine 1-2 and APU fire suppression fluid level, respectively.
  • 6: Ground power, if powercable is connected or not, and a switch to change to ground power on the ground.
  • 7: Turbine 1-2 generator output, and its switches.
  • 8: Instrument lights, overhead, front and middle.
  • 9: Domelight, Cabinlight and Inflight lights.
  • 10: Landing and Taxi lights.
  • 11: Turbine 1 masterswitch, Startbutton and operational lights.
  • 12: APU masterswitch, EGT dial, RPS and Air Pressure dials.
  • 13: Bat 1 bus, AUX bat bus and Avionics. Shows Bat 1 and AUX bat volt.
  • 14: Refuel connected and refuel pump to tank switch.
  • 15: Fueltank freeflow. Allows fuel to disperse inbetween the three tanks using gravity to "equalize" the three tanks fluidlevel.
  • 16: APU fuelpump and fuelpress.
  • 17: Secondary fuel-level for Central, Right and Left tank, aswell as fuelpressure dials for each, respectively.
  • 18: Internal fuelpumps to pump fuel inbetween Central, Right and Left fueltanks. LowFuel-indicators, respectively.
  • 19: External lights, Position lights, Anticollision, Beacon, Nav and Logo lights.

  • 20: Turbine 1-2 and APU fire suppression system behind safety lids, respectively.
  • 21: Flight Director and Flight Director indicator and flight assist indicator, aswell as flight assist for all control surfaces. Flight Director Altitude Hold. Pilot-In-Command light for each seat, respectively.
  • 22: Flight instruments, Artificial Horizon, Speedometer, Slew\Bank angle, Altimeter, Vertical Speed, Courseheading.
  • 23: Backup Compass, Backup Artificial Horizon.
  • 24: Backup Speedometer, Altimeter, Radar Altitude, Vertical Speed.
  • 25: Brakes and Brakepressure, Gear and Gear position.
  • 26: Glass Navigational "GPS" with touchinput for zooming in and out.
  • 27: Lower screens, switch screens, Pilot switch, Flap Position.
  • 28: Squawk code(INOP), NAV 1 and NAV 2(INOP).
  • 29: Aircraft Environment Glass panel. This is touch sensitive to show every aspect of engine environment, APU,
Fuel environment, State of the Landing gear and Battery information. Big button is to switch from GPS map and Aircraft Environment.
  • 30: Turbine 1 Boost pump, Turbine 2 Boost pump, TFO (Total Fuel onboard), Central Fueltank Liter\Per Second
    Dial.
  • 31: Fuel from Left wing, the engine draws fuel from left wing instead of central. Flaps Up\Down. Fuel from Right wing, the engine draws fuel from right wing instead of central.

  • 32: Backup Compass, Backup Artificial Horizon.
  • 33: Weather information, Rain, Fog, Windspeed and Wind direction. Backup Clock
  • 34: Fire Suppression Safety Switch. Fire Suppression Safety Switch Alarm indicator.

  • 35: Nosewheel steering, Parking brakes
  • 36: FD Autohold altitude. Keep at 0 to engage hold current altitude. Enter number to hold target altitude.

This is a quick and dirty fast start of the aircraft. It skips most of the mundane stuff like preflight check, fuel and waterlevel check, exterior check of the aircraft, cargo-area check etc. I wont go into detail of that.

I do believe a rudementary autopilot is already installed. Its just not that advanced as you might find on my other creations.

I didnt create a cargovehicle with a lift because.. well.. Most people are ingenious to create one themselves i reckoned.

I might create one at a later date but i have not made any plans for it tbh.

How do you load cargo into it? it seems a bit too high
