The Cosmic Pig Rescue
Back on old Earth, the fifth most intelligent animal to have ever lived were the race known as pigs. During the golden age when humans were still only exploring the solar system, in a attempt to create hybrid biological/mechanical ship for exploration, the Cosmic Pig experiment was created. By infusing AI machines that interfaced with pigs through their neural cortex, the Cosmic Pigs were the first actual race to have ever left the solar system.

Little is know about what happened to them, and if they even still existed. But there have been more and more sightings of this legendary race after the rifts appeared. Some researchers attribute the appearance of Xsotan in our galaxy to their interest in the pigs. They have been hunting the few remaining Cosmic Pigs to harvest their ships and integrate their advanced technology.

If you are ever lucky to encounter them, it's been said that they pay handsomely for their defense. Just be careful though. The lucky few that were able to use gifts bestowed by the Cosmic Pigs, said that they became targets for the hunters, although they said the benefit greatly outweighs the risk.
