Description
"Let the gunners do what they're paid for. "

This mods simply adds the "automatic" property to all newly generated turrets. That means all loot dropped from enemies, that spawned after the mod was enabled.

Works for all turret types, but not for fixed weapons (coaxial).

As with all automatic turrets, you still need to enable autofire after equipping the turret. To do this go to the ship control panel (default hotkey P) and select all weapons you want to assign to a group. Then press a number key (e.g. 1) to assign them to group 1. Then you can click on the weapongroup icon above your healthbar to enable autofire.
Or skip the group assignment and just set the "unassigned turrets" group at the right to autofire.

They will then attack everything hostile in range. Use the "defensive" mode to change their targetting priority to torpedos and fighters.

- Does NOT affect AI behavior (AI doesn't use automatic turrets for some reason)
- Does NOT modify your savegame.
- Does NOT require a new game.
- Does NOT affect turrets that are created in a factory. Just add targetting systems. :)
- Does NOT affect the damage of the turrets. That means that all turrets which spawned with the "independent targeting" trait, will have a 50% damage malus, but others will not.

If you don't like that behavior I suggest to disable the damage malus with another mod:

I'm having the same problems with this mod as Spawnzrage and PrueferAuge, however I'm also noticing that this mod seems to turn pretty much all turrets in the loot pool into blank turrets that do nothing.

At the current state, this mod breaks the game. Turrets no longer spawn in correctly. Symptoms are:
A new savefiles no longer start with miners nor turrets
Hostile AI is unable to fight, and just sits around doing nothing

Removing this mod does not fix your savefile

there will never be an update as u can do this ingame now he said it before cant remember where but this mod will break your game

dont use it as it is it will remove all turrets from the game (even with dev tools)

This mod is depreciated as independent turrets are handled differently and all turrets can be made to work this way in vanilla now.

Hello all. I havent downloaded the mod yet, i literally just got the game after a long time of searching for something like this. I read a lot of the comments, I was just wondering has the issue been fixed? I have the base game plus both DLC's, and the updat page wasnt able to really help...sorry in advance
