Description
Now listen here my child, the tales you heard of Little Red Riding Hood is true. The girl, the wolf, and grandmother were all very much real, even the huntsman. But the version you heard was painted as a child's fantasy, filled with morals and lessons of not speaking to strangers. But the story of Little Red Riding Hood I'm about to tell you will be the truth, and in this version you will not find any morals or lessons to be learned from this story, only pain and loss...

The truth is Little Red wasn't stopped by a wolf in the forest, she was stopped by a man. And this man appeared to be like any normal man, but as one would say he was a wolf in sheep's clothing. For the man that Little Red conversed with was no mere man, but instead a werewolf. Once the man learned of her destination, he mislead her with tales of a shortcut through the woods. The man felt a dark hunger that could only be satiated under the full moon, and knew the route Little Red would be taking would take her till nightfall to reach her destination. The man burst into Grandmother's house, bludgeoned the old women unconscious and stowed her away in the closet. For he knew the beast within him craved fresh kills. The man lie in wait next to the fireplace, waiting for his meal to arrive. But by the time Little Red got there, there was no man, but in his place a very large wolf. There was only a short scuffle before the wolf swallowed her whole.

Little did the wolf know, Little Red wasn't the only one visiting Grandmother that night. For Little Red's father, the Huntsman, was supposed to stop by for supper later that night after gathering firewood in the woods.

When the Huntsman arrived he caught the final moments of Little Red being swallowed whole. The Huntsman then swung his axe wildly at the wolf. The beast did not yield, and tried to rip the Huntsman's throat out. But before the wolf could clamp down on his throat, something had become ensnared the wolf's teeth during the skirmish, the huntsman's silver cross necklace. The wolf swung it's head wildly around until the silver cross became lodged deep in his throat. The Huntsman retaliated with his axe, striking repeatedly at the wolf's head, until it was no longer squirming on the floor. The Huntsman then cut open the wolf, and to his relief, found Little Red alive. Not long after, the wolf's body disappeared, leaving a man's mutilated body in it's place. Afraid that no one would believe his story, the huntsman then filled the body with stones and cast it out into a nearby lake to hide the truth. And it had seemed everything was going to be all right...

The huntsman modified his axe with silver edging after seeing what his silver cross had done to the wolf. He even added heavy piked end to add weight to his strikes, and a design of the beast was put on it. The Huntsman carried this close to him in case another beast should try bring harm to him or his family ever again.

But nothing could prepare him for what happened next...

The huntsman was returning to Grandmother's house from his trip from the locale town, bringing supplies for the upcoming winter. When he entered the house, he did not see his daughter Little Red come greet him, nor the grandmother stirring the stew pot near the fireplace. What he saw was the horrific sight of a red hooded wolf feasting on the mauled remains of the grandmother. The Huntsman, with tears streaming down his face, slowly closed the door behind him and locked it. Moments later, the huntsman would emerged from the house with lament in his heart, and a red cloth wrapped around his axe...

And thus the first monster slayer was born... Thoen Van Helsing
