The Obscuray - VTOL Submarine & Jet-Airship Hybrid (IN NEED OF MAINTENANCE)

The Obscuray is the third addition to my VTOL-ray series. This one stands out with its ability to land in the ocean and engage a submarine mode to dive and is somewhat designed as a military vessel with its battery of 20 rockets. It is well equipped with all the gear necessary for missions and has multiple systems to automate as much as possible to make it easy for anyone to use, like the auto evasion system which will make the Obscuray dodge any obstacles when flying.

Go to the cockpit
Turn the “Power up” key
Sit down at the pilot seat
Turn on VTOL engines and propulsion engines
Landing gear is automatic


Submarine controls are the same as the flight controls. Yaw to go left and right. Up/Down to adjust altitude, but using the altitude hold is highly recommended.

Follow the checklist on the left screen to see the steps needed to engage submarine mode. The list updates automatically.

DO NOT land in the water with jet engines still rotating. If a jet engine intake fan is at over 0.5 rps when touching water, it blows the engine.

All hatches will close and lock down when engaging submarine mode.

Controlling the Obscuray under water is just like in the air. Use Left/Right to yaw to the sides.

If your speed is too low while diving, you might stall and go nose down. To solve this, turn off altitude hold and turn off the propellers. Then you will float back to the surface.

The auto evasion system will engage if you’re traveling at speed towards an object, and it will quickly turn the vessel upwards and to the side until it’s clear of the obstacle.

When in submarine mode, ALWAYS keep moving. The stability of the vessel is based on the movement.

To arm the rockets, turn the key on the center console behind the pilot seat.

Bilge pumps start automatically when detecting water in the cabin.

By clicking the “Deploy Ground Anchors” button, 4 magnets on winches will drop to the ground and attach by themselves. When turning off the button, the magnets turn off and the winches haul them back in.

If lifting heavy loads, you can increase the throttle to the VTOL engines, but this will make the vessel unstable, so only use while lifting very heavy loads. You will find the lever at the center console.

You can refuel without landing by lowering the fuel hose and using the harness at the rear hatch to get to the ground. Ground anchors is recommended.

All alarms can be muted by turning off the “Alarm Sounds” switch at the middle console.
