Washington Monument

A quick version of the Washington Monument. It does not slope inward - but is a very simple Obelisk, and I took my best guess for how I imagined the interior staircase was done. I did not want to slope it because I thought it looked fairly awkward given the height limitations, and because I think from the ground there's already a fairly good illusion of a slope on the higher Field of View angles.

I built the lot so that it can be a general commerce lot OR a player base, and it is scaled down for what the actual monument is (being 70% the size of the original). I did not change the marble layering because I found there wasn't a good texture I liked for when it was built originally vs. the next phase of building - and so it all features the same pattern of blocks on the sides. As a Commerce lot, it costs $1,187,710 to build, which is the same cost as it was done originally in 1884, and it serves 1000 people with 50 workers. Only one may be built per player (one Commerce and one Fortification). Since only one may be built, I did add a small economic modifier making 5% more than a normal commerce building at full capacity.

The building has full electrical wiring, and a master switch to make it completely dark. I added an illusion for the lighting where the building actually has painted glass so that light from the corners can shine outside of it. This looks really neat at night since it gives the illusion that the whole monument is lit!

It can be placed anywhere and does not require road access to function!
