Description
Unofficial Shogun 2 Patch
The Unofficial Shogun 2 Patch is a combination of all the top bugfixing mods out there. It merges them all into one big patch. Although my name is written as creator, I'm not the one who should be credited for this mod. This mod is a combination of great work from some very talented mod authors out there. Their names will be written below as well as a link to their original work and the changes they brought to the table. Permissions has been granted.

If you find any bugs or problems that you think should be addressed, or if you want to contribute something yourself, feel free to contact me. I'll constantly keep this mod updated as long as issues arise. Also note that the mod is in an early state. As such, it won't fix every bug there currently is, just a few of them. This will hopefully be mitigated in the future.



[Patch 1.7]
> Adds ores to Heavy Bune after it was lost during an old patch of the game.

> Fixes an oversight in the 1.4 Patch causing only normal Nanban Trade Ship, but not Mori Nanban Trade Ship, to not be capped anymore.

[Patch 1.2]
> Adds occupation resistance to AI. The game previously lacked this, making certain buildings and research useless. This has now been fixed.

Detailed changes: Easy and Normal difficulty has the same resistance as player. Hard has -10 reduced resistance. Very hard has -50 reduced resistance and Legendary has -100.


[Patch 1.1]
> Added spear square for Yari Ronin as it was previously only availible to Yari Samurai and Date Bulletproof.

> Fixes a bug where japanese commands said something completely different than what it originally meant (e.g. ''forward'' turning into ''retreat'').

> Fixes a bug for Fall of the Samurai where during night battles, the light would float above the banner. This is caused due to CA not adjusting the standard light height to the smaller banner height causing it to float. It has now been replaced by the standard banner fixing the issue.

> Fixes a theoretical bug where spear square wasn't enabled for Yari Samurai after researching Spear Expertise. The reason this is thought to have been a bug is due to the fact that the only units that gets the ability are hero units of which you have to research past Spear Expertise in order to get. This hints that it was originally intended for someone else. It's reasonable to guess that it was originally meant to be used for Yari Samurai, Yari Ronin and Bulletproof Samurai, which has now recieved the ability after tech completion.

FAQ
Q: Is this mod compatible with (...)?
A: Yes, yes and yes! This Patch should be compatible with more or less anything.

Q: Do I need any DLC's in order to use this?
A: No DLC's are required.

Q: Is this mod multiplayer compatible?
A: Yep! Just make sure whomever you play with also has it installed!

This mod doesn't require any DLC's to function. It is also generally advised to have it first in your load order in order to avoid issues. Feel free to contact me if you want to contribute with something or if you have an issue that you think should be patched. I'm still inexperienced and won't be able to deal with all issues on my own. I would thus appreciate it if more experienced modders would help keep this patch updated.

btw the ai doesnt know how to counter resistance so the game becomes easy

By the way, this mod also makes Takeda and Mori unable to recruit Great Guard/Nihon Maru in the campaign. Not sure how to fix that. Without the mod, they can at least recruit the basic version of those units, while with the mod they can't even do that. Takeda Great Guard and Mori Nihon Maru work fine only in custom battles.

@Tyler I agree. I will return to the patch in the summer and make some changes to keep it up to par. Will also be creating two new versions, in addition to this one, of which one will contain more hard bugfixes, and the other contain changes to the vanilla game that fix otherwise unaddressed issues. This patch will remain as the all in one pack for them both, but I think options should be provided so that players who may not necessarily think "no all rank fire" or "lack of spear square" were unintended additions to the game, have the option to choose a more light approach.

There were also some fixes I intended to add before but didn't as my original attitude with this mod was more as a mod compilation and less as a patch, but my mindset has changed a little on that front and I will be adding some more comprehensive fixes of my own to address as much as I am able to.

This mod somehow adds a super annoying fanfare sound to battles that that totally ruins the game experience - at least for me.

@The Galactic DUP 1.The Kisho fix in this mod is not the intended "buff" no ninja should have the 11 ammo the mod did the reverse "fix", there is a proper ninja fix elsewhere in the workshop.

2.The trade ships not being in custom battle isnt a bug, its intended.
3. The pixel thing...sure but its the most minor fix in the world
4.the arrow sound bug fix isn't always needed, depends on other mods used
5. "theoretical spear square" bug is just that...theoretical..not an intended feature.
6.lantern fix, sure thats a good one. but again so minor
7. voice lines, from my limited research its maybe not so much a bug as some have chimed in that the language has changed somewhat 500 years and things may not mean quite the same thing.
8. occupation resistance for AI. Again thats not a bug fix...the game and ai was designed with this in mind. So it fucks with the balance of the game and causes the ai to be too passive

Hi! Whilst playing Fall of the Samurai I have encountered a very specific issue. It seems that this mod makes it so that the cannon sound effects when firing completely disappear in FotS naval battles (i.e: cannons are completely mute in FotS naval battles). Could you please fix this?

With the new windos update I can not PLAY my Shogun game... pls make a fix....
