Description
Another High School based off one in Toronto Ontario Canada. This is a recreation of Bendale Business and Technical Institute.

Bendale BTI opened in 1963 as "Bendale Vocational School" and was designed by "Abrams and Ingleson". A main feature of the school was its heavy focus on Trades and Business. Students attending this school would specialize in either a Trade or a Business field alongside taking all the standard courses and was one of 3 schools to feature this specialized course load. In 1971 the school would be renamed to "Bendale Secondary School" as the term "Vocational" had fallen out of favour with Toronto's school boards. The school was expanded in 1974 with the addition of a new Library, Auto mechanics Shop, and Swimming Pool. In 1987 as part of its 25th Anniversary, Bendale would be given the new "BTI" (Business and Technical Institute) moniker. Over the years however the school went from being a "Trade School" that people willingly went to, to more of a dumping ground for underachievers and "Undesirable" students. Most students attending the school didn't come here willingly but were instead recommended or just outright sent here; thus giving the school (and its 2 counterparts) less then stellar reputations among students and parents. The school was closed in June 2019 due to low-enrolment and the Toronto District School Boards desire to close its trades focused schools in favour of offering those programs in the normal high schools. As well this school was to be merged with the neighbouring "David and Mary Thomson CI in a brand new campus. The building would be torn down shortly after its closer and its land redeveloped into town homes. The closure of this school would mark the end of the "Trade School" in Toronto and while many High Schools offer courses in one trade or another this one was the first and now last school dedicated solely to teaching students Trades.

The facility includes: 16 Standard Classrooms, 2 Science Labs, 2 Art Classrooms, A verity of shop classes, 25m Swimming Pool (with seating gallery), Double Gymnasium, Cafeteria (with stage), and Library.

UPDATE: Updated asset with a new model and textures to be closer to the real building!

@ Aminushki: Yes in June. David and Mary Thompson CI is also supposed to close sometime in the new year, whenever the new Midland-Lawrence Secondary opens. Could be as early as September or as late as January.

I love your Toronto series. Especially enjoy the little blurb about the asset's real life inspiration that you thoughtfully include.
Thanks for sharing!
