Oeridia Dominions 5 Edition

Description
provinces: 1053 land and 172 sea

A map with... a lot of provinces and special encounters. Wildly inspired from The World of Greyhawk by Gary Gygax.

WARNING : Due to all the areas this map requires more than 2 GB memory and so is only compatible with new Dominions 5 64 bit client (crashes the game at start with 32 bit one) for Windows users (should work with Linux client too).

Changes to the old version :
* Provinces shapes (roughly) fixed
* Winterized
* Mountains / Highlands inversion fixed (mostly, I certainly forgot a few provinces)
* Changed color chart to use more pastel tones, and other minor graphical improvements
* Reduced the number of completely unpassable borders (replaced by mountain passes or river crossing) and added ritual only connexions for those remaining
* Changed a few provinces terrains to have a bit more diversity in some regions
* Labelled some dozen seas as kelp forests (but not visible on map)
* A few minor changes to encounters
* Allowed a bit more starts out of plains so cave, mountain or swamp nations may expect to start on their favorite terrain

I was suspecting there was some kind of bug then,since around home castles in range of 2 our search magic spells showed no blood, no death sites (even in deserts, swamp and few mountains). But, we are waiting for our rainbows to wake up and see what we can find then.

thnx.

Provinces wil 3 or more sites set in the map file, the big cities and most special provinces, usually have #killfeatures, which means extra random sites don't appear on them.
But provinces in this cases are fairly rare (something like 2 dozen provinces / about 1400 iirc). Most provinces (even those with one or two preset sites) can also have random ones, you just need to search them.

My son and I have been playing it a while, as Phaecis on my side (with stupid choice of enlargement, så my sacreds cant board ships anymore) and on his side once Abasya and new game as Ulm.

Problem is, besides sites we immediately see when we are near them (like Navigators, sages, arenas etc) there doesnt look to be many (or any?) extra hidden sites available.

Is that intended? Am I missing something? We raised actually the numbe rof sites to 70% with hopes we´ll see some, but to no luck.

Help?

Old map was just a copy of the Dominions 3 version (ie : not winterized, no provinces shapes set, mountains and border mountains inversed due to terrain numbers having changed, etc...). The only reason to use it over this one I may see is if you have to use Dominions 5 32 bit client (as the winterized map take too much memory and will make the game crash if you don't use the 64 bit client).
