What you can try if you have airplanes. For example taking a weird turn immidiately after takeoff from the runway is to drag an "airplane path" closer to the end of the runway the plane uses for takeoff
Airplanes will always try to take the shortest way to their destination. Keep that in mind when laying down an airport and drawing the airplane paths.
But overall plane movement is very problematic and often than not airplanes will display odd behaviour, thats just a problem with the way their movement is programmed.
Oh that could have been a glorious plane. Fingers crossed the new (old) Ram-Jet engines make a comeback and we'll get to see awesome again.
