Description
I'm leaving on a jetplane.

The Boeing 2707-200 is one of three aircraft designs that would have been ''America's concorde'' the 2707-200 is the second SST design boeing made, which is not much different from the 2707-100 exept it had a pair of canards.

in the 1960's the United States felt they had to take part in the race of building their own SST, a supersonic transport, as many at the time saw it as *the* future of aviation at the time, many aircraft companies submitted designs, but boeing's design was ultimately chosen and given government funding.

Being 93 meters long, it would have been a gigantic aircraft for its time, and be able to carry over 200 passengers, it would have flown over 2.900 km/h at cruising speed, it was larger, and faster than the British/French concorde.

However, despite multiple airlines being intrested in purchasing the 2707, the plane was not meant to be, many design problems, costly production and changing public opinion caused the project to be cancelled in the 1970's after spending over a billion dollars on the project.

I aim to bring this aircraft to life once again in Cities:Skylines, and do it a bit more justice than previous renditions have done. Just as the real aircraft, this asset aims to push the game's technology to the absolute limit, with many advanced features such as sweeping wings, Afterburners with three stages, a sonic boom vehicle effect, custom sound, landing and takeoff submeshes, and a dozen liveries.

About this asset

11k triangles, 2k textures shared with LSM.

Package includes both vehicle and ploppable version.

Requires Vehicle effects mod.

Comes with smoke effects and sound effects, sweeping wings, drop down nose, retracteable landing gear, landing flaps, three stage afterburner effects, as well as a sonic boom particle and sound effect.

The sonic boom triggers on landing and takeoff ? this is because the game doesnt allow for advanced speed trigger settings on aircraft without breaking them one way or another. However you can trigger it yourself by making it slow down and speed up with AVO if you wish.

thats not a problem, thats just the way AVO works because advanced vehicle options only shows the base mesh of the airplane and not the submeshes.

Hey, I have a bit of a problem where, in Advanced Vehicle Options, only the landing gear of the plane shows up. This happens with both the -100 and -200 variants. You know what might be causing this?

Alright, I'll try adjusting the airplane paths. One thing I've also noticed is that none of the special effects work, even though I do have the vehicle effects mod. Help? Finally, is there a mod for bigger aprons/taxiways/runways?

Flight behaviour: theres no way to change that, its just that the aircrafts movement in game is incorporated pretty awfully.

What you can try if you have airplanes. For example taking a weird turn immidiately after takeoff from the runway is to drag an "airplane path" closer to the end of the runway the plane uses for takeoff

Airplanes will always try to take the shortest way to their destination. Keep that in mind when laying down an airport and drawing the airplane paths.

But overall plane movement is very problematic and often than not airplanes will display odd behaviour, thats just a problem with the way their movement is programmed.

What do you recommend for having somewhat' realistic flight patterns and behaviors? I do build custom airports with airport roads, yet the planes tend to act... Odd.

Just saw the Mustard Episode about in on YT.

Oh that could have been a glorious plane. Fingers crossed the new (old) Ram-Jet engines make a comeback and we'll get to see awesome again.
