Description
R.U.S.T. Mobile Processing is a variant of the original R.U.S.T. Freighter created by Aragath. Consistent with the original design, this build is completely vanilla (modless) and does not use DLC. The ship's basic hull structure is unchanged, but has been revised somewhat from the existing design to add new features. Note that I made no attempt to make the sensor, sound block, and timer blocks functional, but left them there for anyone to use.

REVISIONS:
- Rotated the basic refineries (arc furnaces) to be horizontal with the deck to allow the interior to be airtight; affected interior lights were relocated.
- Relocated the programmable block, gravity generator, sensor, and sound block to optimize interior space.
- Removed extraneous button panels.

ADDED FEATURES:
- 6 advanced refineries with yield modules
- 1 assembler (2 total)
- 4 cryo chambers (5 total)
- 2 front spotlights (3 total)
- 1 interior turret on the exterior (2 total)
- 1 survival kit
- 1 programmable block (2 total)
- Isy's Simple Doors script (https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1751168996)
- Automatic LCDs 2 script (https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=822950976)
- various interior and exterior lights for consistency with the original design

WHY DID I DO THIS?
I was recently playing a new survival game, starting in space with nothing but my basic welder, hand drill, grinder, and guts. I found a derelict SPRT ship, disabled the defenses, found the needed oxygen and hydrogen bottles, and started revising it to fix existing parts and add some refineries so I could expand operations. Not long after, I noticed a R.U.S.T. Freighter wandering by, so I captured it and decided that it would serve well as a mobile refinery. After considering different options, I found that I could reasonably attach six refineries to the hull, three to a side. I continued to modify the ship, mostly just to get it airtight (by rotating the arc furnaces/basic refineries), and found that the new features worked really well. My version also had a 6-drill extension out the front and, although it worked well for quickly collecting ore for processing, it looked so wrong that I left it off this build. (Anybody can add that particular feature if they're using this build for a survival ship.) I opted to exclude a jump drive because the ship's hull will not fit such a large block without the ship looking unbalanced.

Additionally, I make it a point to put function ahead of form, so it's important that my interplanetary ships are able to function in all environments when fully loaded. That will be especially difficult with the current framework of the R.U.S.T. design given its three large cargo containers.

It's fascinated me, too. But trying to keep its profile...its "look"...is challenging when trying to expand its capabilities.

I've always loved the look of the R.U.S.T freighter

That would be super cool

I'm considering an interplanetary version.

This is a great idea. Well done. I will definitely be taking this into my creative world to mess around with

Thanks. I figured out a better way to do a couple things. Maybe I'll post a revision.

extremely practical refit of a classic ship, I love it!
