Deck Quest: The Expansioning

Description
The Expansioning is an unofficial *ongoing* addition to Deck Quest featuring 230 new cards:

- 15 new Classes
- 40 new Role Cards including the new classes and 10 new races.
- 75 new Adversaries in themed blocks including Demons, Oozes, Rats, Kobolds, Werecreatures, Plants, Insects, and Unique enemies.
- 100 new equippable and consumable items.

In an effort to keep the game lighthearted but still true to source material, some DnD and occasionally Magic the Gathering based mechanics are included to provide a little more structure for players who found the rules vague or prefer a true(r) to DnD playstyle.

My group plays with loose DnD Homebrew rules and pre-drawn and scripted cards for campaigns, rather than randomly drawing and these roughly reflect that, but where created with random drawing in mind.

I plan on adding more and more as time goes on but I felt I finally had an adequate amount to release them as is. They've not been balanced yet and will require some play testing to get right so feel free to leave feedback on them and any spelling errors (There are quite a few) as well as formatting issues that still need to be worked out and proffesionalized etc. I feel the new classes might be under-powered, damage wise so just tack on a few extra points of damage if you find them under or over-performing, rules are for lames anyway.

For those who couldn't make sense of the rules, just do what you want, play it like a structured DnD campaign where players have to roll to perform actions. Think of it as a DnD Lite, an excellent introduction to tabletop gaming without all the fuss. Have fun with it, make ♥♥♥♥ up. Don't just go by the cards, use your imagination. Throw in traps and towns and npcs. Let the players befriend and manipulate or intimidate enemies. Play with miniatures to minimize the confusion behind the "All take damage" modifier. Just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and enjoy yourselves. Deck Quest is full of potential and I deeply recommend buying it to support the developers.

Aw man! That's awful! I can't imagine how frustrating and demotivating that would have been. I'm really sorry that you had to experience that. :(

I agree... I actually started working on a card game inspired by this but a bit more serious and close to DnD and spent a few months working on a few hundred cards and then accidentally lost everything and ever since I've just been pretty uninspired for creating stuff, plus the group I used to play Deck Quest with has pretty much split up, so I've no one left to do nerdy group things for inspiration any more.

That being said... Looks like I'll have to blow the dust off of the workshop soon.

Hey a year and a day later I'm coming back to say that you've provided a lot of inspiration for my friends and I to make cards. Wish you'd come back though! We need to make this game blow up again!

Oof, as I no longer have the original creation files to fix that problem and can't even remember what I set that for, let that be the DM's decision... What benefit do you think being inspired a racist lizard warrior might give you? Especially if you already get +15 defense from a regular ability. Perhaps a Bloodlust that adds damage, maybe other kobolds gain a heightened sense of xenophobia and star start shouting slurs at you that inflict psychic damage and demoralize the affected for 5 dice rolls, lowering rolls by 1-5 points and disadvantage. My bad...

Does any one know which font is used to write the texts within the cards?

Those are part of the base game unfortunately, so if you don't own it, you'll have to substitute and give them out as placeholder loot and rewards.
