Description
Soldiers, sailors and airmen, of the Allied expeditionary force, you are about to embark upon the great crusade, to which we have striven these many months, the eyes of the world are upon you.

This is a retexture of my C-47 Gooney bird/dakota, sporting D-Day invasion stripes, to commemorate D-day, and the deployment of over a thousand paratroopers behind enemy lines, to prepare the way for for the allied invasion forces into occupied France.

The C-47 had a key role, both in dropping the paratroopers on D-Day, as well as keeping the allied forces supplied and transporting the wounded back to safety. it saw action on nearly every frontline of WW2, and has since then recieved a well earned reputation as one of the most legendary and important airplanes ever built.

About this asset

This airplane features custom sound effects, rotating propellers, smoke effects and retracteable landing gear.

4.2k triangles with all submeshes combined,1024x1024 textures.

Package includes both vehicle and ploppable version

Requires Vehicle effects mod and FlipXZ mod.

Why is it a building and not a prop ? because it uses submeshes and props cant have submeshes, and without these submeshes the aircraft would not look nearly as good.

@NoirMoutton yep, the brits commonly called it the Dakota, the Americans did commonly call it ''gooney bird''

it had countless nicknames, but those two really stuck.

@BrowncoatTrekky thank you man !

Great tribute. It is better known in the UK as the "Dakota"
