Description
!!! IN KSP 1.8 THE ROTOR IS LESS STABLE AND GENERATES LESS LIFT AS BEFORE, REASON UNKNOWN :( !!!

No reaction wheels needed!!! This rotor imitates how a real helicopter works and is very controllable! Each rotor is a fully functional fully articulated rotor, inter-rotor mechanism is simplified for less part count and avoid asymmetry of the rotor (rotor are not synchronized).

BUG #22928: launching from hangar is all fine, but when you reload this craft in the wild, the rotor will not work properly. Why? the nodes on the rotor is deformed due to gravity and centrifugal force, when you leave the game, the deformation is saved, next time when you reload, the all parts are initialized on the deformed position, so the rotor is no longer in the shape it should be.

Also, do not click revert to launch, this will cause the helicopter behave differently. Not sure what kind of bug it is...

(tested in 1.7.3)
Maximum takeoff weight: 75t
Cruise speed: 50m/s
Rotor operates at around 105rpm

Hold H to fully power up the motor and use throttle to control collective. (no payload, takes off at 50% - 60% collective)

throttle: collective
H/N: main motor power up/down
J/L: roll trim
I/K: crane up/down
1: start fuel cell
2: toggle all motor engagement
3: toggle tail wing flap
abort: eject external tank

Note:
Reaction wheels in the cockpit is currently disabled and switched to SAS only, you can activate them for more stable control or as a fake auto pilot, since the stock SAS function can't control those hinges under the rotor.

If you want to build your air frame, it's better merge other files into this craft file. If not, those EAS-4 struct connectors will be disconnected. It will be painful to reconnect them, quite a lot and many are hidden inside.

You can modify this rotor to a single main rotor + tail rotor configuration, but it will be hard to hover nicely with just a keyboard. Coaxial rotor is much easier.

HI, I made a update for ksp 1.8.1, now it should lift off, but for unknown reason the rotor is not as stable as in ksp 1.7.x :(

I love the rotor design. I'm still perfecting a miniature version of them for my inspired beechcraft baron g58 (using contra-rotating propellers).
