Description
The Joseph Smith Memorial building was originally called Hotel Utah and completed construction in 1911. It is now home to 3 restaurants, including 'The Roof' and 'The Garden' which both operate out of the top level with panoramic glass wall views. Many levels of the building also serve as administration offices for the Mormon (LDS) Church. This building, while still known as Hotel Utah, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It is located at Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah.

Lovely building. This beauty will likely find a home in my next build.

@dereck4 I'm really wondering if you'd do that asset, calm down there buddy! No need to be so defensive. I'm not Mormon either, just lived in the area for college and love that park - would be a great little asset for the game too!

Haha, @thedave25, I will let you argue with the Mormons on a computer game all day long if that suits your fancy. Just let it be known that I am not just making Mormon buildings and I am not even Mormon, so your history jabs land no offenses here, I am aware of this history as well. I just happen to live in Salt Lake City and I am making buildings from there because I am recreating that city in my game. Once I am done with the Temple Square portion of my downtown, I will move on to other buildings in the area that are not Mormon owned.

Oh, since you're doing a lot of the Mormon areas, will you make a small park asset for the site of the Mountain Meadows Massacre, where Mormons from the Baker-Francher party massacred about 120 children and adults? Harper's Weekly has a beautiful rendering of the site, which you could maybe use as your inspiration? There's even a nice little monument that the Mormon church built at the site you could add. Just a fun little bit of Mormon history to add to our Utah maps! Thank you!
