Kiang's Fire Emblem Great People

Description
Bringing the vibrant cast of Fire Emblem to your game one Great Person at a time!

This mod replaces all vanilla great people with the characters from Fire Emblem. Great Writers, Artists, and Musicians have been replaced as well, and will produce canonically-appropriate, Fire Emblem-themed great works. In total, over two hundred new great people names and about one hundred new great works were created for this mod.

Additionally, it features an optional gameplay mechanic called "Legendary Great People." Every time a great person is spawned in your empire, there is a small chance (about 5-10%) that they will be a "Legendary Great Person" -- a rare unit with a powerful, unique ability. This mod adds 27 Legendary Great People, who are enabled by default. For a full list of Legendary Great People and their abilities, please see the following link.

FAQs:
I've subscribed, but I still can't see this mod in my mods menu. Why is this?
Steam is notoriously bad at downloading mods from the workshop. Use the direct download link, then extract that file with 7Zip or your file extractor of choice. Then, take the UNZIPPED folder called "Kiang's Fire Emblem Great People" and put it inside your "MODS" folder.
Where is my "MODS" folder?
If you're using Steam and you're running Windows, it's probably at C:\Users\YourName\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS
I don't like the legendary great people. How do I turn them off?
Navigate to this mod's folder, which should be inside your "MODS" folder. Then, click on the file called "KFEGP_Settings.lua" and follow the instructions in that file.
Does this mod require Brave New World and Gods & Kings?
Yes.
Will you be making a Vanilla-compatible version?
No.
Never?
Never.
How come?
It is a huge amount of extra, repetitive work that I really don't want to do. If I'm going to be modding, I would much rather spend that time creating something new, rather than finding ways that I can simplify my older works enough so that they will still run in Vanilla Civ V. There's a lot that just can't be done in the Vanilla game, and the audience for Vanilla mods is very small. G&K and Brave New World go on sale very frequently for as low as $5 a pop, so if you wait around for a month or so you're sure to be able to get them for cheap.
X unit/Y ability is super OP/broken/unbalanced! Don't you care about balance?!
To be honest, no, not really. My primary goal is to make interesting and fun mods and to come up with exciting new ideas and abilities. In addition, the "Fire Emblem Civ V meta" seems to be a step higher than that of vanilla Civ V. There has certainly been some powercreep. As a result, I'm not too concerned about balance. But the bright side of this is that I'm not at all attached to my mod's current balance the way it is. I am super-duper open to suggestions! If you have balance feedback, please leave a comment (here or in the Discord)!

Looks like I guess @Kiang is right.

It seems that the rumors are true: Adding too many of the items, particularly units; might cause the problems pertinent to the Strategic View. Once the Strategic View icon limit has been reached, there'll be errors such as icon mania, or, to the rare extent, crashes. So that's why LeeS and Whoward69 have already warned that there is no solution to the Strategic View icon cap problem.

@cybershrew: For this, I'd download "More Great Works" and then you should be all good to go:

My mod fully replaces all of the vanilla great works, so no, there isn't any way to get them back. However, adding a new set of great works to the pool should mean you won't run out.

This is an issue inherited from the base game. Vanilla civ wasn't designed to be played with more than 22 civs, and even then, sometimes the world would still run out of great works. That's why my mod, which has about as many great works as the base game, inherits this issue. If you're playing with 22+ civs you should be running an additional great works mod if you don't want to run out: I recommend the one I linked, but there are plenty of other good ones too.

is there a way to get the the original set of great works and your set ive been playing on the fire emblem giant map with 34 ai and they run out mid game. I really want to use your mod but any culture civ is instantly weaker because of it

Haven't grabbed the mod yet, but just to let you know, "Garreg Mach" is misspelled in Edelgard's description in the screenshots, as well as "with" in Altina's.

@Kiang

Yeah. Verifying the integrity of Civ V's cache is important. This will avoid crashes. If any of Civ V's files are missing, Steam will download the missing files

@EmperorQ: Alas, I do not. I know for a fact that all of my mods work together. It's a risk with any mods, unfortunately, that adding too many will bug something out. Unfortunately the Civ V community hasn't gotten crazy enough with its mods that we're creating baked patches like Skyrim does or stuff like that.

Honestly, there's not much I can say. I would try just enabling a modest amount, and if that's stable, you can build up from that base. Also don't forget to clear your cache and/or re-verify files if things are wonky. Sometimes that can help too.

@Kiang: This is off-topic, but... Is there a list of Fire-Emblem mods that you know for sure work together? I always get greedy and try to run too many Fire-Emblem mods at once and something bugs out.
