Weapon History

Originally developed under the Lanz project, the 105mm Inky Steel Works Cannon is the latest addition to the coalition’s weaponry. We had originally hoped to secure a suitable foreign cannon for our new light weight fire support vehicle, however, after much testing it was determined that there was no adequate weapon system that met our requirements. As such, work began on a new domestic cannon with a focus on light vehicle compatibility.
The 105mm Inky Steel Work is a versatile weapon designed for compatibility with lightly armored systems. Developed and manufactured by Inky Steel Works, the cannon is a versatile tool perfect for fire support vehicles and light weight tank destroyers. The inclusion of a muzzle break reduces recoil and further enhances the guns ability to accurately service a follow up shot. Thermal sleeves and a muzzle reference system also come standard on this cannon.

In Space Engineers

As stated above this gun was design for lighter vehicles as such the recoil is low so that light weight vehicles do not flip themselves over with the first shot. Even something as light as a 25-ton tank destroyer will have no problem using this gun. The damage has been balanced towards vanilla weaponry and light armor so that one shot doesn’t simply annihilate everything in front of you. The hit box for this cannon is slightly smaller than the actual visual model. I did this to reduce the chances of your gun randomly rubbing against other parts of your vehicle because Keen doesn’t know how to make a proper collision mesh for the life in them. This will not affect the gun’s performance or ability to get hit, it is only there to make things less clangy during construction and use. This gun is based off of the 105mm Japan Steel Works gun found on the Type 16 MCV. I have put a lot of time and effort into creating the model for this gun. As such, you can expect a high quality in game model with lots of little details. This gun does use Whiplash141’s penetration and ballistics script.

damn, that sucks cuz ur tank cannon mods are the literal best ones ive found, every other mod either doesnt work at all or the sound is garbage

@Cona6789, Ah, sorry about that. I don't play SE anymore so I haven't checked up on things. I guess the new update must have broken something in the code or script. I'm also no good with coding so I can't really fix it anyways. Whiplash is the one who does the coding so you can ask him about that if you need a solution. I'm not sure if anyone has re-uploaded my mod with fixes but you can look around for those if you want. Sorry, I can't be more helpful right now.

on new automation update if your gun mods arent at top of mod list theres a spammed message on screen that reads "Exception in update" that doesnt go away ever

Why does the ammunition use platinum? Uranium makes sense, but Im not sure about platinum

@meingott, Ah, yes... I do plan on making more guns but it'll take some time as I have other commitments to tend to. Currently there is one gun in the works (roughly 35%ish done).

Inky, ever considered making even more cool cannons? Like 50mm autocannon (imagine new strafing run capabilities!) or 105/120 large grid turret? Not atually suggesting anything, just curious of future plans,

Update: Mod has been fixed and is now working. Special thanks to Whiplash141 for fixing the scripts and data files.

NOTE: There is now a required mod to go along with this one. Please make sure you download Whip’s Weapon Framework. (This mod allows Whip to auto update the cannon’s script and keep it from breaking every time Keen updates).
