Greetings folks!

Within this guide I am going to explain you in how-to create a multiplayer lobby for Blood: Fresh Supply. It is pretty simple and done in just a few easy steps. Since version 1.8.8 it has been possible to host Private, Friends, or Public game lobbies.

This guide will be updated frequently as in more features will be implemented as well as the development and updates of Blood: Fresh Supply continues.

[#01] First of all ... Video Settings & Steam's overlay
If you like to use the Steam overlay in-game, then you need to change the Video Settings for Blood: Fresh Supply. Yet, it is not possible to use Steam's overlay with the DirectX11 (DX11) setting in Full Screen mode. We think the Developers are going to fix this issue in near future.

Well, so I recommend to use the "Vulkan" option as Vulkan runs faster and smoother than OpenGL does. To-do so, in Blood: Fresh Supply's Main Menu goto:

  • Options
  • Video Setup
  • Graphics API

On the right side of this option, click to change DirectX11 to Vulkan.

I also recommend to change the Max FPS setting to "MAX" and the Anti-Aliasing setting to "MSAAX8". If done, click "Apply Changes". It could take a while.



Note:
If you encounter a crash or a constant black screen after changing some of the Video Settings, try to quit Blood: Fresh Supply via the "ALT+F4" command or use the Task Manager by open it via "CTRL+ALT+DEL" or via "CTRL+Shift+ESC" and close the process called "anuket_x64.exe".

Re-start Blood: Fresh Supply and check, if your changes have been set. If not, try again.


[#02] How-to create a multiplayer lobby for B:FS in 8 steps
Now, let's open a multiplayer lobby!

To-do so, be in B:FS Main Menu and do following steps. Click on:

  • "Multiplayer"
  • "Host Game"
  • Change max players and host a Public, Friends or Private lobby
  • Press "ESC Key" to return back to Main Menu
  • Click on "New Game"
  • Change your preferred multiplayer game settings, scroll down and click on "Continue"
  • Select an Episode
  • Change difficulty
That's it! You are set and online




Note:
After you clicked on "Host Game" and see your nickname on the bottom left corner, so all gone fine and you have just opened a multiplayer lobby. Just continue to prepare your gamesettings.

After pressing the "ESC Key" and you see the "Disconnect" option on the bottom, you are still online. Continue by clicking on "New Game" at the top.
[#03] How-to run a B:FS "Cryptic Passage" multiplayer lobby
Be sure Blood: Fresh Supply is closed.

(Re-)Start B:FS and Steam offers 2 selections which mode should be run. Select "Play Cryptic Passage" and continue.



Next steps are as same as before which I described under [#2]. Click on:

  • "Multiplayer"
  • "Host Game"
  • Change max players and between hosting a Public, Friends or Private lobby
  • Press "ESC Key" to return back to Main Menu
  • Click on "New Game"
  • Change your preferred multiplayer game settings, scroll down and click on "Continue"
  • Select an Episode
  • Change difficulty
That's it! You are set and online

[#07] Singleplayer Cheats
There are various Cheats for Blood: Fresh Supply. To use them, open the chat with the "T-key" in-game and enter:

Temporary Invincibility. Displays the message "I WILL NOT CHEAT, I WILL NOT CHEAT" and if repeated "I AM A COMPULSIVE CHEATER".

Instant death. Displays the message "THOSE WERE THE DAYS"; Nick Newhard, Jason Hall and Brian Goble all previously worked there.

Instant death. Displays the message "KEVORKIAN APPROVES".

Sets you on fire. Displays the message "YOU'RE FIRED".

100% body armor, 100% fire armor, 100% spirit armor

Full armor (same effect as getting super armor).

200% health (same effect as getting life seed).

200% health (same effect as getting life seed) and diving suit.

Warp to any level. Brings up a window to choose episode, then one to choose level. This can also be used to enter BloodBath levels in single player mode (episode 5).

[#08] Experimental Private Multiplayer Game Lobby
As for the Classic DOS versions of Blood & Co. as well as by the use of the DOSBox to host a (private) Multiplayer Game, there are following steps. These steps will also support "crossplay" between Steam, GOG, etc users.

Host:
  1. Open port 5029 on your router
  2. Check and notice your current public external IP adress via www.whatismyip.com
  3. In Main Menu of Blood: Fresh Supply, press "Tilde-key" (~) to open the Console
  4. Enter "spawnipserver" (without quotes) and close the Console

Client:
  1. In Main Menu of Blood: Fresh Supply, press "Tilde-key" (~) to open the Console
  2. Enter "connectip IP:5029" (without quotes) and close the Console

To close your Lobby open the Console and enter: "netshutdown" (without quotes).

However. I think by opening such a Lobby, it will be listed to the public, too.

[#09] Hints & Tips
To play in a nice environment, be friendly to players and don't be afraid to chat with them. Open Chat by pressing the "T-key" in-game.



If you are kinda stucked inside a campaign/level or just want to switch maps to scout and select them for Bloodbath or Team, open the Console with the "Tilde-key" (~), or that key under the ESC key.

Be sure the command line is cleared before entering a cmd, so hit Backspace a few times to prevent corruption. Then enter:

map e1m2

E = Episode
M = Mission

This also works during a Multiplayer Session, but disables Achievements and so count as a "cheating handling". The host should use this command wisely in MP Coop!

If you are experiencing crashes, you will likely find a CRASHLOG.TXT and a anuket_x64.dmp file in your Game Directory. We need these files! Please e-mail them to support@nightdivestudios.com, along with a description of what was the last thing you did in order to cause this crash to happen, and we can get them to our development team for fixing in a future update!

The team will constantly monitor this thread and try to follow up with your report as soon as possible.

have you followed all quick 8 steps under [#02] ?
try it again please, ignore all stuff here but focus on [#02] first ..

if you see your nickname on lower left corner as shown up, you successfully created an online lobby, your gf now just needs to enter it ..

if you do not see your nickname down there, you made sometehing wrong. if your nickname is shown but your gf cannot login, maybe she is doing something wrong.

if everything fails, maybe a firewall or antivir is blocking, on your and/or your gf ..

additionally check [#08] portforwarding to open port 5029, but that should be a DOSBox feature ..

No matter what I do I can't get multiplayer to work. I really wanna play co op with my gf but my lobby doesn't even show up and manual connect via tilde doesnt work either

Monsters do not make sounds for players that arent the host in multiplayer coop.
My friend and i confirmed this, any solutions?

I have Hungarian keyboard layout and I cannot open the console. I press 0 but nothing happens. I press AltGr+1 but still no console.

If you are behind a Carrier-grade NAT (CGN) then it doesn't matter if you open the port 5029 in your router, nobody will be able to join to your game. You can see if you are behind a CGN by logging in to your router and check the external IP then compare that IP with the one you see at whatismyip.com , if they are not the same, you are behind a CGN.

Maybe you will still be able to play with those who have the same external IP (whatismyip.com) as you by using your "inner" external IP (what the router shows). So, you have 3 IPs: home network (192.168.*.*), carrier (ISP) network (100.64.0.0/10), public IP.

Still not working, if i join my friend i see his character but hes basically playing a different game.
