As far as remasters go I recommend a few tweaks before you start Blood Fresh Supply. Switch from DX 11 to Vulkan. Set FPS to max. Turn off V-Sync. I had horrible stuttering before I switch to these settings. Finally turn off slope tilting (Otherwise the camera angle gets weird going up and down ramps). Now on to the game itself.
I have no nostalgia for Blood or most 90's shooters (Half-Life 1 and Quake 3 are the only exceptions) but I've definitely become a fan of them. Over the years I've played and beaten Wolfenstein 3D, DOOM 1, DOOM 2, Star Wars Dark Forces, Duke Nukem 3D, Quake 1, Turok 1, Turok 2 and obviously Half-Life 1. Now that I've finished all of Blood I can confidently say it goes toe to toe with Half-Life 1 as my favorite 90's shooter. Blood's horror aesthetic stands out from the crowd of traditional sci-fi settings these shooters tend to go for. Caleb is my new favorite FPS protagonist (yes even over the modern DOOM Slayer). It's nice to play as a character that's having as much fun throwing dynamite as I am with his psychotic laugh. Blood has the most satisfying gunplay of any 90's shooter. The sawed off shotgun in this game is legendary (remember these guys would go on and develop FEAR so they know their shotguns). The rest of the arsenal has that sweet combo of being creative, fun and useful. Blood's levels are huge and have a ton of secrets so it nails the exploration aspect 90's shooters did well. Blood is definitely challenging. I don't know if it should be your first 90's shooter because of that. Play some of the modern boomer shooters that are inspired by Blood first to get your bearings (DUSK or Cultic). Even boomer shooter veterans will get tested here. The hit scan cultist enemies have an infamous reputation for a reason. The game will gladly throw cheap ambushes at you. Once you get the full arsenal the game does get easier sort of. Overcoming Blood's difficulty is part of the joy especially when you master your dynamite throwing skills. In the end Blood is just so satisfying to play. If you want to be tested with your old school boomer shooter skills look no further.

I enjoy this game, and it's difficulty. I think Nightdive Studios should do the Heretic and Hexen games like they did with this game.

Wonderful game. The fact that this was made in 1997 is mindblowing, a masterpiece that holds up to this day. A must play for anyone interested in retro shooters.

Only real complaint is that the gun cultist attacks are hitscan, which can be oppressive at times.

After finishing game for 8 hours here's my review. For a game that's a doom clone I think it's one of the best of them. From what I heard many people around me don't know very much about this FPS since it's pretty underrated and it's pretty good for what it is. This game has an expansion pack but I'll start with this one first. The game starts off with a cutscene where the main character dies and you get brought back to life and kill anyone that gets in your way and find your friends. The cutscenes are pretty outdated which isn't a problem since it's not the main part of the game. You get a few weapons to choose from. The pitchfork that is the first weapon you get in the game but you barely use it when you have better weapons because of how weak it is. The flare gun that can turn your enemies on fire and the alternate fire that burns your enemies faster or instanly. The shotgun that you can shoot one or two shotgun shells at a time. The tommy gun that you can shoot at enemies and click right mouse to shoot your gun left and right for enemies that come in groups. The rocket launcer that's like a flame grenade and it's alternate made that shoots like a grenade launcher and spreads throughout the screen. The telsa gun that like the one in doom that shoots electricity at enemies and is probably the best weapon in the game to use against the giant enemies and it's alternate weapon that shoots a beam ball that can kill multiple enemies. The skull staff that shoots out fire when you use it. The voodoo doll that can kill enemies when you use it. Dynamite that can kill enemies in a instant when close enough. There are different types of dynamite but I didn't use them. Two of them are a proximity mine and another is a napalm laucher but I haven't used it since I had so much better weapons without the use of them. Now for the enemies of the game. The zombie with a fire axe that gets up when you didn't put to much damage to them but the second time they don't get up. The fat zombies that shoot out protectiles at you with your mouth. The gargoyles that are stone but when you do something they come to life and try to kill you. The cultist with different colored robes with different weapons like the shotgun, tommy gun, telsa gun, and dynamite. The fire dogs that shoot out fire. That's about all the enemies I can think of in mind. Now for the bosses. The spider boss that spawns baby spiders, the white giant gargoyle that shoots out lasers at you with it's eyes. The 2 headed cyberus that shoots out fireballs at you, and lastly the skeleton boss. There are multiple things you have to get in the game in order to move up like 6 different keys that help you progress in the levels. There are some points where you have to go underwater and if you stay down there your screen turns dark and lose health and a lot more depending how long you stay underwater. I got killed a bit from moments like that. Switches to press that can be hidden at times so look around your area carefully. There are items you get in the game but I rarely use them except the medkit that I use when I have low health. There's boots that can make you jump higher, beast vision that I'm not sure what it does since I haven't used it, diving suit that helps you breathe underwater. The other items you get are hearts that give you 20 health and can be found when you kill enemies which are rare to find from enemies. Life seed that can heal your health to 100 and can give you up to 200 health. Armor that can protect you from fire, bullets, and magic. A item that can make you invisible for more than 20 seconds, invinsibility that can make you indestructable for more than 20 seconds. Reflective shot that is a orb when you pick up that makes enemies shots reflect back to them. There are multiple areas in the game like a steamboat, city, graveyards, cemetaries, and so much more. There is multiplayer in this game where you can fight with people online or do coop but I haven't done that yet. There are reverence to movies like frozen Jack Nicholson as Johnny from the Stanley Kubrick movie The Shining. There's a single hand that runs up to you saying "I'll swallow your soul" which is a reference to the Evil Dead series. There is a map but it's kind of useless since you can't see the items or a marker that shows where the keys are. There are like 5 episodes and like 8 to 9 stages of places you have to go through in the game. There are humans that you sometimes have to kill that have keys so that's not a problem. There are barrels some explode and some don't. Now for the problems of the game I have. There are times when you play the game it has an error. It rarely happens to me so it isn't that much of a problem. Some places I got stuck at that I rarely had to use a walkthrough on YouTube in order to figure out what to do. There are points where I die and wasn't prepared but I do manage to get through it. That's all now for the expansion pack.

The expansion pack is Cryptic passage where you have to get a scroll. Not gonna go into the story very much since I don't want to spoil it. The game has you go through multiple levels fighting enemies from the first game and making your way to the end fighting two cyberus bosses which is pretty overwhelming at first for me but I managed to get through it. There is a other option to choose from what I see is I guess the original version but it lags on my laptop so I didn't play very much of it.

After that I'll give this game a 9 out of 10 since I had so much fun with it. Also when I reach 100 reviews on my Steam profile I'll do a 20 euro Steam card giveaway when that happens. If anyone wants to get it when that happens you just have to send me a message first on my Steam profile to get it. If your going to get this game I recommend getting it when it's on sale. I got it for less than 5 euro which is a good price.
