MV Solis - Solar Powered Merchant Ship

Description
MV Solis is a solar powered merchant vessel with 5 decks.

Features include: usable lifeboats, usable crane, a helipad, a fully functional bridge, weather systems, 4 passenger cabins, 2 crew cabins, an engine room with working bulkhead doors, and many passenger/crew areas (a Grand Staircase, Piano Lounge, Games/Reading Lounge, Dining Room and Music Stage, and Medical Bay). The ship is also fully lit up, and there are heaters around the ship for the arctic update- meaning you can use her anywhere on the game map.

I built the ship using the real life plans of the Nuclear Powered Ship NS Savannah- creative license of course had to be included- though I've retained the angles and curves I wanted to have. Solis operates under Crown Cruises like RMS Ruby- however there are cargo stores and a working crane as Solis is a multipurpose merchant ship. Savannah was built in the 1960s- so Solis is not a modern vessel either.

Like Ruby, Solis is a WIP project. Whilst Ruby is around 90% complete- I consider Solis to be around 60%- everything works- doors, lights, the crane, etc etc, but decoration wise you'll notice when compared to Ruby it's a bit barebones!

Solis is sinkable. Though it isn't as simple as with Ruby. The bulkhead, SOS, and lifeboat system is identical. However, to sink the ship- you will need to use high waves or a tsunami and have the cargo hatches unlocked and fully open. You will also have to have the doors leading from the cargo bay to the passenger deck open to fully sink the ship too.
You can also capsize the ship- as Solis uses Ruby's ballast system- just disable the capsize prevention system in the engine room- and either wait for the capsize to happen as she moves, or speed it up by raising the waves and opening the cargo doors like in method one.

If you do try to capsize the ship- an alarm will sound automatically. If you wish to sink the ship manually, you can activate the alarm system by using the 'SOS key' in the bridge. You can also prevent the ship flooding when sinking by closing the bulkhead doors- controlled by a button in the bridge once you have used the SOS key. If you utilise the bulkhead system correctly, it is possible to sink the ship stern or bow first. As well as capisizing port or starboard.

The lifeboats are extremely simple to use. And are powered both by batteries on board Solis and by solar batteries on the boats themselves- this way- the charge will not run out. Each sits two players / NPCs. You can lower or raise them with the labelled buttons, and release them by disabling the magnets. I reccommend using two players to use the lifeboats properly- since they are so high up and the magnet release is on deck. You can also re-attach and raise the lifeboats after lowering if you want to use them to travel to islands/docks.

Solis was designed to be refuelled- and the ports are easily accessible. They are near to the boarding ladders and boarding gate on both sides of the ship. The batteries are self-charging due to the solar panels atop the ship. You can keep track of the charge and fuel level both in the bridge and in the engine room.

I hope you enjoy using the ship- if you have any issues just leave a comment! I spent a lot of time on this- longer than on my more popular ship RMS Ruby actually, and there are far more features on this. As my second from-scratch project, I'm pretty proud with the results- all the logic works, and I'm still finding my way around using advanced elements. I have not yet added a reverser- like Ruby it will follow eventually.

As always- feel free to make any suggestions for features too!

DO NOT under any circumstances, re-upload this ship or its lifeboats as your own without my explicit permission. If you edit the ship enough to make it your own project and agree to give proper credit, there's a chance I'll agree to let you anyway- so long as you ask first, there really is no excuse to do so without asking!

Thank you! I think I uploaded this ship at a bad time- it isn't as popular as my other, despite me putting a lot more effort into this. (The forecastle took ages to get right!) I'm glad you appreciate it!

As posted on RMS Ruby: The latest update has broken the magnet system for everyone with lifeboats. I have no way of fixing this as it's a game issue.
