dr_dekt

dr_dekt is a deathrun map that takes place in a snow stage. The first stage is a fully 50/50 trap based stage that is designed to knock most of the players out at the very start. This is mainly designed for many reasons, mainly being to obtain better frame rates, trust me, you're going to need it!
Once you get past all the 50/50 traps in the snow stage, you head into the next one being grass. You notice it is detailed with rocks, water, grass and trees. Once you progress a bit farther, you enter a building.
After you've exited the building you will get a variety of different endings to pick from! This is the fun part, it makes all that effort to get to the end worth it.

This map does have subtle easter eggs such as the endings itself, which requires you to press 6 buttons in total and all in order enable to unlock the door to the enter the "SPECIAL" ending.
There is an easter egg that involves breaking a certain crate somewhere near the beginning of the second stage; grass stage. After breaking the crate, you will then enter the teleport to teleport to the "easter egg." The easter egg is very subtle although. It's just a red and white laser trail, still very nice to have to show others you've found a secret place!
There is somewhat of an easter egg in the map, this one being a "NyeBlock" server logo that you grab to wear above your head - it rotates.
There is a cheeky YouTube channel plug in the map somewhere. It's in the house somewhere, it's not too easy to find however, so good luck finding it!
The last easter egg is one that is pretty secretive, I'll give you a hint. Find it... It's somewhere along the lines of just entering the Surf ending. It can be found identically at both the starts of the surf ending, both Runner and Death sides!


This map was optimized as well as I could without having too many problems. If you're trying to run this well, this will be an issue unfortunately. During development I ran into several issues that could not allow for better optimization for performance, I did not find a fix for it, it was the best I could do, some things didn't work out but I optimized it as best as I could. This map was being developed for ages it felt like; 2 years. I ran into many problems that took months to figure out. If there were no problems, this would be about a 5 month project! Things didn't work out all that well. You can give me props however for trying. It was a learning experience, even after having experience with map developing etc. It was far different from previous projects I worked on. I am a one man team anyhow, so I had no help with developing this deathrun map, it was NOT easy! I tried my best and that's all that matters, enjoy!
