S.E.F. Regulus (Vanilla)

In 1 collection by Tacet
Space Engineers Federation Ships
15 items
Description
Scout craft capable of both atmosphere and space flight. Medium cargo container, H2 tank, and O2 tank. Runs on a large reactor with batteries for backup. Uses atmo thrusters to float on-planet; uses hydrogen thrusters to escape gravity.

Built to make off-planet trips scouting for space resources, then be able to bring the resources back. Handles well in space and well enough on-planet to return to a base.

NOTICE: Survival testing proved that one H2/O2 was not enough to support two hydrogen thrusters. Ship interior has been reworked to add another H2/O2 converter and H2 tank. Version 2.0 is 1 block longer.

Features
  1. Cargo, H2 tank, O2 tank, reactor, and parachute hatches fully connected
  2. Radar, antenna, and front camera for remote control, if needed
  3. Ore detector
  4. Air vent fills O2 Tank when atmosphere detected
  5. Hydrogen thrusters have dedicated H2/O2 generators with H2 tank to support bursts as needed

Notes
  • Can I Fly calculates that this ship cannot escape atmosphere with its up thrusters. This is true. Escape gravity at an angle of 65-80 degrees using the hydrogen thrusters on the tail. This ship has been flight tested with a full cargo load of ice and uranium, and it can escape gravity up to 1.1 G with hydrogen.
  • Fill H2 and O2 bottles through connector
Etymology
Named for the Goldcrest, regulus regulus, a small perching bird known for bright yellow feathers on its head.
