[WotC] Brigand Class

Description
Commander, one of our Rangers insists that we are not fighting 'dirty' enough. They've trained hard to improve their stealth abilities, and are expert at getting in close to the enemy, then unloading buckshot into their spines. Rather than discipline the soldier, we've elected to let them try their sneak attack tactics in the field - better on the aliens than on us.

The Brigand offers another excellent scouting unit alongside your reaper, should you find stealth game play to be your preference. Unlike the Reaper, the Brigand has no way to stay in stealth reliably, and only one charge to return to stealth mid battle, so choose when to unload their powerful surprise attacks wisely. By default, there will be only one of this class in your 'forced deck' but you can train more in the GTS.

I tend not to use Reapers and stealth a lot in my games, but I know a lot of people much prefer this style of gameplay, so I wanted a class that could make use of powerful ambush assaults, but with limits on how often they could be pulled off, for those times when I, or perhaps you, preferred a more covert approach to a problem. Their scouting abilities are invaluable, and the Brigand's stealth is actually slightly stronger than the Reaper, making it possible to melee attack someone from stealth without breaking shadow (although you still have to face the roll of the dice after the kill)

This class has no GTS perk, as I dont know how to get that to work. I make no warranty abut the bugginess or otherwise of this class. I am not a good enough modder for such things.

Thanks to all the good folk of the XCOM modding community for answering my cries for help.

already did that to at least 100 of them at this point, alongside a few berserkers and vipers for good measure

Absolutely love this concept of a close range reaper class. i just walk up behind an enemy as feel free to unload XD seriously though, this is awesome. i even have one wearing the viper king armor and it just does the works too well.

No, the Brigand uses the shotgun.

Hi, just curious Brigand class have access only as Vektor rifles as primary weapon?

Yes the brigand is set to use the reaper armours, which should prevent them from being a stealth unit in super heavy power armour.

Fair enough, I do think Serial is basically In The Zone anyway.

One other thing that I have no idea why it's happening - my Brigands don't have the XCOM Kevlar armour. Instead they have the Reaper armour. I dont think it really effects anything aside from cosmetics, but it's worth noting.

Also, good catch on the XCOM perk line - I should look into how to set those properly. I am using amod who's name I forget that lets me retain those perks for some XCOM points, and I don't really recall seeing duplicates anyway - something for me to do - maybe if I decide to upload those last two classes I could go back over the current ones for any needed tweaks.

Oh, In the Zone is actually the game internal name for Serial, which is the localization name. When I was writing out the skill tree for this blurb above, I was likely looking at the internal skill listing, and just called it In the Zone, which was Serial's name back in XCOM. So this one is a quirk of XCOM.

Haven't had a proper chance to use the class yet, but a quick thing I wanted to point out - Brigands can still get Phantom as an XCOM skill. Also my Brigands have Serial instead of In The Zone, unsure if this is intended or not
