That's usually a mod, yes. :) Do you have Hide It? If so, uncheck the Shore Area option in its settings.
(Or if you have a similar mod that hides dead trees on shorelines, check that mod's options.)
Um... I am working with this map right now, and I don't have any of the autumn-looking trees in the swamp areas. I know it's been a couple years, but any reason I don't have those? Do I have a mod interfering with something?
It does have me curious though why it won't it work for others but does for me. Maybe it settings? or an update? I can tell you I would never provide bad info I promise.
I did a video example for you to view. I don't know if it will help and maybe you will see something that will. I chose ecania's YAKATORIAN ISLANDS. It has a rather large amount of floating items and was the original map I did it on for a city build.
I performed the same actions I do on any map with floaters, even saving and reloading after I do it. I show my options area forgot to the bottom of my mod list for a full view.

If you use MoveIt, then you can select props and trees in MoveIt,
Use the Marquee tool and select your entire square (or if using a camera utility mod that allows you to go anywhere on the map then you can zoom out and select the whole map)
Then select to "Align Objects to Terrain Height", then it nicely plops them down.
However be cautious if they have used other props and such. I usually check all the green areas of move it to ensure it isn't some oddball placed prop like a wall light but if it is then just shift click it to de-select it. Usually though it is just rocks and trees :) if they aren't floating then nothing happens anyway :)
Many thanks for creating and sharing this.
Are there any known issues using the 81 tiles mod over that of the 25..?
That way I get access to the bottom section of land on this beautiful map.
Thanks
