how do i use game

Just do the Tartarus station chest room. You can farm it early as well if you want good weapons early on (note legendary weapons don't spawn until after leaving Fyrestone)

Still works for me. Btw you have to save quit in a DLC area for the chests to respawn

I did this several times 15 minutes ago.
Central chest - guaranteed legendary and eridian. Sometimes legendaries spawn in other chests.

Enter some DLC zone, then jump to the Vault - voila, lootable red chests. Take all you want, then jump to DLC zone and save/exit.
Reenter game, you are in the DLC zone, jump to the Vault - loot chests again.

But its just boring, no challenge in this.

Actually works, also good way to get all skills to lvl 3 and one time I got a legendary in middle chest and one in one of the others.

When i created a new character i got the Hive and Bahas Bigger Blast to start with. A bit weird IMO.

you have to save and exit to reset it

works i just did it then but you can only do it once.
