One of the weak points of the Devastator that is rarely highlighted is that it is a shotgun and therefore it fires in a cone, which makes it an inaccurate weapon.
With the Minigun you have pretty good accuracy and you can afford to shoot towards your allies without inflicting damage if you have a correct aim, this is practically not possible with the Deva.
Minigun is generally much better in all aspect: more range, more ammo, more accuracy, more movement speed.
The only thing the Deva has more is a bigger burst of damage at short range and a bigger dps in general, which is not necessarily incredible compared to what the minigun offers us in compensation.
Sorry, I'm a newbie and don't mean to question your knowledge, but I can supply 'dev' with minigun ammo. If the developers add this option, what can you say about the devastator state now?
Sometimes I take Medic SMG on shorter missions that doesn't require much healing like Sewer Junction in combo with Tesla. If your teammates can't kill anything on their own, double SMG can be fun to use as well. But in a good team this extra fire power is unnecessary and Tesla + Medigun combo will be more useful.
this SLH... always slow and out of position ;D
