Calypso Schweizer 269C Helicopter

Description
The Schweizer 300C Helicopter first saw use with Calypso when she voyaged to the Antarctic. At the time the helipad was located on the bow and could be collapsed and stowed. Later on a more permanent helipad was fitted aft of the ship, and the helicopter went with Calypso on almost all subsequent voyages.

SPECFICATIONS:
  • Range: 40Km+/-
  • Speed: 49+ Knots
  • Capacity: One Pilot, and one Passenger/Observer

CHECKLIST:
  • Magneto...............................................ON
  • Ignition......................................PRESSED
  • Position Lights...............AS REQUIRED
  • Clutch......................................ENGAGED
  • Rotor RPM over 500............CHECKED
  • Throttle High*...................................SET
*Do not attempt to takeoff until the 'Low Engine RPM' light is out.

In the HUD, there is a 'Hotkey' to signal the crew to tie-down the helicopter, i.e. engage the connectors to "tie down" the helicopter to the deck. When the connectors are active, an illuminated symbol of a 'T' will appear on the cockpit at your left foot (reference screenshots above)

REFUELING:
Located near the funnel aboard Calypso is both a batter charger cable and a fuel hose. The fuel is drawn from the daily use fuel tank feed line, so insure you have fuel in whichever tank you are planning to draw from to refuel the helicopter, and the associated valve in the engine room is open.

COMPLETELY REBUILT FROM THE PREVIOUS VERSION IN 2019!

Thanks to Sir_Murtak sharing the Pineview Heliport with us, and Uran_Wind for the Gyro controller!

ENJOY!

Fuel still empties when turned on.

BomberEx, they released a hotfix alittle bit ago, maybe it's better now?

Update: if you change the max divisor value on the fuel input fron 2.2 to 1.95 it works prettymuch like before

BomberEx, glad you're enjoying it, and thanks for the tip. I "had" fixed these previously but had not uploaded the update yet. But, I get the feeling yesterdays update might have been a mistake, I'm going to hold off on fixing anything until we see if there is a "hotfix" from the Dev's or not.
Take care!

Turns out it was running slightly too lean with a fuel to air ratio of .454545:1 so I changed it to .5:1 but it still needs tweaking

I have been using this helicopter and making small upgrades to it. I absolutely love it. For some reason with the newest update or patch the helicopter starts to loose engine and rotor rpm as soon as collective is being added and can barely fly out of the hanger before completely loosing rpm and going down. Is there a way you can fix this.
