Puella Magi Madoka Magica Music

Madoka Music Overhaul

Description
I got bored one day and this was the result!

This mod replaces most of the in-game music with tracks from the Madoka anime series and the first two movies. In total it replaces around 70 tracks, including the combat, dungeon, exploration, tavern and main menu music. It does not replace any sound effects or voices, nor does it replace the music heard during events such as death or levelling up.

The videos above show off the music used. The first video provides you with an example of how the music fits in with the game, mostly showing off the exploration music. The second video shows off two of the combat songs and wasn't meant to showcase anything, it is just something I uploaded for a laugh but thought I may as well put it here too because of the music. In the first video, the music heard when fighting a dragon is actually one of the tracks you will here during normal combat. The songs you should hear when battling a dragon/boss are Surgam Identidem, Nux Walpurgis or Agmen Clientum. The third video shows you what Surgam Identidem sounds like in case you don't know or have forgotten! (I'm only showing a video of that song as I feel it is the best song to hear when battling a dragon)

All music used is owned, composed and arranged by Yuki Kajiura.

Alternative download: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nepipjx7uh9y6da/Madoka.rar (place contents in Skyrim\Data folder)

The songs don't loop. Once one track ends it will play another, so if you spend a while fighting a dragon you may end up hearing several songs. They are also unedited.

A list off all of the tracks used and which in-game tracks they have replace can be found here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/z1k1b73xmrtl0cj/Track%20List.txt

This mod is compatible with Sounds of Skyrim and any other mods which alter sounds effects within the game. It is not compatible with any mods which change the main music files, but can be used with any mods which change jingles heard during leveling up, death, discovering a new area etc. It can also be used with mods which change music played by NPCs with instruments. If you have other music mods which change jingles/flutes etc but still which to use this, then have this load after them in your load order.

Any other problems, please post here. I probably won't update this mod unless something game-breaking is discovered, but I'll do my best to find solutions to any problems you may have.

Not tried those versions so I'm not sure how to do that, sorry :(

You could try the dropbox link and play about with it. Someone a few comments down mentioned something, so you could try that and see if it works, but I don't know myself as I have not tried it.

If I ever start up the SE and decide I want my Madoka music back tho I will try figure it out....

Any chance of this being ported to SE/AE on nexus?

Can’t believe I didn’t say this back when I downloaded the mod 6 years ago, but this is, by far, the BEST soundtrack replacement mod on the entire workshop.

Sorry it took so long for me to say that. Better late than never, I suppose.

Thanks for making this and hope you’re doing well during these crazy times.

Hey all, I have an easy solution to the SE port! If you download the .bsa files from Mari's dropbox, and Bethesda Archive Extractor (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/974) from Nexus, you can extract all the .xwm files into a new zipped folder, place that folder in your SSE folder that contains your other mods, then use 'add mod from file' on Vortex (or whatever mod manager you use) to add the zipped folder.
I spent far too long figuring this out today, but its a necessity for my magical girl play
through! I hope this helps!

Also I just uploaded the .xwm files to Google Drive (https://drive.google.com/open?id=1_SbNyqx_fawRsHMogYv90_wzByMlT1bb) as I wrote this, which means you should be able to download the file and place it straight to your SSE mod folder, skipping the BAE download!

@Mari Christmas I tried to convert it myself, but it didn't really work right
Mari Christmas  [author] 19 Dec, 2019 @ 12:50am
Someone said they converted it in a comment a few years ago do you could try that? I don't have the original files so I can't do it myself and probably wouldn't for the life of me remember how to but if anyone can do it feel free to do so!

Can someone please give me a version compatible with SE?

Good mod

Pros: Doesn't have start/stop issues, each track fits the environment, reminds you of your favorite scenes from Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

Cons: Reminds you of the worst scenes from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, makes you cry

10/10 I (don't) want to cry please (stop)
