While on his travels, a young and brash Sniper encountered his most challenging contract. Several others heroes had before him and failed to succeed and return alive. The task involved ridding a village of a notorious creature that swept through the night, destroyed their home and crop before returning to the Endless Forest. Entering in confident, he assured the concerned citizens with a confident smile that he would "be back before breakfast". Months later, long after the townsfolk had him for dead, he emerged with the claw of the beast. Grizzled and presumably wearing salvaged gear off other unlucky adventurers, Sniper was unwilling to discuss the details. He dropped his contract, paid the village back three-times the promised reward as an apology and left that same day. Knowing that more experienced and skilled marksmen had entered the Endless Forest without leaving, he took his narrow escape as a sign to return when he was not only stronger but worthy of doing so.
