FPSC S2 EP2 - Miner Wars 2081: EAC Survey Site, New Landswick

Welcome to the first set of the new second season of First Person Survival Combat. In the new season it is my ambition to retell the tale of the Miner Wars 2081 in a Space Engineers setting. Also, I want to make all the sets available on the workshop. Maybe in the future I can glue them all together like a campaign, but for now they will just be posted individually as I make them.

For those of you who are not familiar with Miner Wars, it was the first project of Keen Software House for Steam. It had a lot of cool things going for it at the time, however, development ceased with the development of Space Engineers around 2013. I have the game, and I play it regularly as I like it. It is brutal game with a hard learning curve, as well as giving you no time to learn or understand what is going on. You fly around in asteroids in a war that hits you in the face. You (Apollo) and your older brother/wingman (Marcus) discover the politics of a destroyed human society, and the possible salvation of mankind in an object only known as the Artifact.

Does all this sound familiar? It should, as Space Engineers follows that theme, even though it may not be a direct sequel.

So in this first person combat scenario, The EAC (European American Confederation) is surprise by the Russian Federation at their survey site of a new inhabitable world known as "Solaris" (or Earth Like Planet to the survey team). Hastily gathering their fleet of trucks and rovers, the team of engineers and miners try to run for a landing zone where a friendly interplanetary transport ferry captain, Magdelyn, will evacuate them from the planet. Marcus is kind of a hot headed jerk, so he demands to drive the heavy truck. Having no other seat left, Apollo must ride shotgun, squeeze his buttcheeks, and hope he and the team survive to the LZ so that they can escape. The Russians are ready, and bring enough heavy assets to the fight to make it overkill. What motivated them to do this? Well, in this first chapter you will not find out. You must survive, after that Apollo you and Marcus can look for answers. Everyone blames the EAC for the destruction of the Solar system, perhaps no one wants the EAC to have a claim on the first habitable world to be found since the Quantum Event of 2070 anno domini.

To keep in the spirit of the Miner Wars, you start right away in the fight with no idea as to what to do. Also, it is unfair in balance and difficulty as you go down the pipe rail. I built the set, and can barely make it to the end of this set on 1 try. So good luck!
