America Tourism Trait

Description
Replaces America's Manifest Destiny with a new trait.

E Pluribus Unum: +2 Culture in every city until Industrialization is researched. +2 Tourism in every city after.

Because this uses Tourism, it does require Brave New World. The Ranch unique building featured in the screen shot is not included in this mod. It is available as a separate download here.

Redneck Rapture, if we're being honest you fought 40,000 British soldiers and won thanks largely to your role as French proxies. What's been America's defining trait hasn't been the made up stuff like "exceptionalism" or "manifest destiny" - it's been the protestant work ethic which built a thriving economy. Ironically, it didn't manage the other issues which brings us to why the US so unequal on basic indicies for income equality. Using high minded rhetoric is find if your audience believes the same or isn't widely educated; it falls over when the audience knows a bit. ;)

I was wrong before. 1 Culture was too weak. It's been switched back to 2 culture again. Also, because E Pluribus Unum is a much better name for a trait about culture, the name was switched.

I actually really like this mod. Makes America easier to play and it actually gives them a sense of direction on where to go for a victory condition. Rapid expansion needed a better incentive than 50% less cost for borders anyway, although it was very nice, and that's beside the point that the Americans didn't have a unique building as well to at least ease the pain of all the cities needing 60 turns for a monument. @Gogloplex, the 10% and the 20% would only really make a difference post-mid to late game as %'s aren't really that big in the early game. And we all know the early game decides most games. Thanks for the mod. ;)

Why not make another United States Civ, that would be funny, 'cause 'merica fighting 'merica.

How about calling the UA "Blue Jeans and Rock n' Roll?" hehe

Compared to the other culture focused Civ's it seems kind of underwhelming. Maybe something like "+10% culture produced by every city until Industrialization, +20% to tourism after." That's just my opinnion anyway.

I always thought America's biggest trait, it's defining feature, was the desire of its people to turn their dreams into reality. When we want something, we go out and do it. We wanted independence, so we fought and won it (the only country to win independence from England by war ;) ). A man wanted to light up the night, so he spent weeks in his research lab until he discovered a filament to use in a light bulb. Two men wanted to fly, so they invented the first powered aircraft. There are many, many other examples, both for good and for bad.

As someone who enjoys buffing the American civ, I enjoy this mod. Thanks for your contribution!
