Nuclear Fusion Reactor

Description
Adds a new building, the fusion reactor, available at nuclear fusion. The fusion reactor increases the production and science of a city. (Note that the screenshot shows a reduced hammer cost, due to starting in the Information Era; the correct hammer cost is 750.)

Enjoy!

Sole Song: That's really not within the "sphere" (you see what I did there) of any modder's ability to change. The entire game engine is based around the flat map, and would require a complete remaking of the engine to account for such a change. :summerufo:

Ulixes... when working on that massive overhaul on Civ5, could you please place the map on a rotating sphere (globus)... I cant really understand why 5 was in this day used a Mercator map style, when it should be easy for people knowing and doing programming to map on a rotating sphere, rotating in xyz planes, a real Earth or planet.
Thanks :-)

Yay for fusion reactors!

However, I second MigGui's suggestion of having some extra requirement for this building like the solar and fission plants have - I would suggest that fusion reactors be limited to coastal cities, to reflect the fact that fuel for fusion is most likely to be extracted from seawater.

You're welcome to include it.

Really good work, well done! I'm building a MASSIVE overhaul of Civ5. I ask for permission to include your mod (giving credit of course!). Thank you in advance for the reply.

I don't like the idea of a better building being exclusive with other, earlier, weaker buildings either. it gives an unfair advantage to player against AI.

another thing, all three mutual exclusive production buildings should have requirements: either you build on desert, or spend uranium, or...? you should add something. it's not like every single city in the world is capable of or interested in building a fusion reactor.

Sweet - I felt that a fusion reactor was missing much from Civ V!

Chaos Warrior is right - a failure of the plasma containment field would just cause a failure in the fusion reaction - so no meltdown is possible. Expanding plasma would immediately cool down enough to safe temperatures.

I don't like the fact that it is exclusive with the solar/fission power. Is the computer smart enough to sell their pre-built power station and replace it with this once it becomes availiable? I doubt it.

rzemsky nuclear fusion reactors dont have meltdown i think your confusing fusion and fission

Good idea for a mod.
