ASDC Mjolnir Frigate

Modless and survival ready.


The Mjonlnir class frigate is the face of the ASDC- it serves as the primary workhorse, as it has the most versitile mission profile in the fleet. It's engine layout makes it a pretty speedy ship, too. 4 main large hydrogen engines, 10 large ion engines, and a whopping 8 large atmospheric engines make this thing go anywhere at the speed you want. While it is a newer design, it's based heavily off it's predecessor, the Spartan, which is by far the most reliable and sensible vessel I've made (other than this).

The ship is equipped to handle most, if not all, the needs of an engineer in space. It has a refinery, 3 assemblers, large cargo facilities, and scripts to help. On top of the previously mentioned thruster package, it has 3 jump drives with roughly 2,000 km of collective range, with a robust power supply that primarily features a large reactor.

As the ASDC is a military organization, the ship has pretty sharp teeth for it's size. It has 8 gatling turrets, 8 missile turrets, 5 assault cannon turrets, and three rail guns. The ship only has light armor to save weight, it does have self repairing capabilities for in-combat repair, and a decoy system to divert fire from primary systems. It can take an absolute beating (within reason; it's not a battleship) and still relentlessly fire on enemy ships. It even has some light interior defenses in case of enemy boarding action. I also would like to remind you that while it's not going to dodge missiles as effectively as a fighter or a corvette, it is still quite speedy. Might as well use that.

- It's capable in all planetary bodies in the base game, thanks to an effective thruster package (~13m/s/s of forward acceleration)
- 5 rocket launchers, 10 Gatling turrets and 11 missile turrets make it combat ready

- Hangar and an airlock have seemless, instant access to the surface of a planet

- Fore, aft, port, starboard, dorsal, and ventral cameras
