Description
Adds the Mapuche Civilization to Brave New World, with Lautaro as its Leader!. This mod features Custom Leader Music.
UPDATE: Fixed a bug with the Chemamull granting tiles to the wrong owner.

Mapuche Civilization
  • Leader:
    Lautaro
  • UA: Legacy of Arauco: Combat Units may enter rival territory without Open Border treaties. Increased generation of Experience in battle. After the discovery of Calendar, units that die on an unimproved or pillaged tile create a Chemamull
  • UU: Toqui: Replacement for the Great General. The Toqui may attack and defend. loses health everytime it kills an enemy. Increased combat strenght of adjacent units, may move after Pillaging. May not build Citadels. The Toqui earns one combat point more than the highest mounted unit you may train.
  • UI: Chemamull: Unlocked at Calendar, the Chemamull yields +1 Culture and +2 Faith (only +1 to civilizations other than Mapuche), but it consumes the worker when built. Chemamulls claim the tile they are created upon when not built by workers; but when pillaged they may grant the ownership of the tile to the nearest city. Units starting their turn on a Chemamull may earn double experience from combat and a combat bonus; and will restore the Chemamull if it was pillaged.

[This mod uses a 2D leaderhead, since 3D leader modeling is still too obscure and mysterious. Updates to the mod will likely break saved games]

Special thanks to Danrell for the Incan Horseman model I based the Toqui on, and to Sukritact for the Map.

This one had a bug for me. When Mapuche (AI) was defeated, they remained in the game. I could still talk to them and they denounced people eventhough there were no cities of them around. Other civs got removed after defeat.

@Leugi
Nice mod. Definitely not OP. It took me 247 turns to win - typical is 236 to 247, so this is in the range. Not being able to build citadels is a good balancing factor. You can't claim territory, so it is harder to get to strategic resources outside your border. Note: I was able to build a UI adjacent to another UI and on flatland. Having to burn a unit to build is the balance with the UI. I was able to claim a tile I wanted outside my border by putting a scout on it and letting the barbarians kill it... :steamhappy:

Mod is Buged Civ won't die even after I have captured all of his cities and pillaged all of his Chemamull. I suspect this is because he still had land after I captured his last city...

What happens when a Chemamull is replaced by another improvement?
