It opens to grids. and it can only open if the doors and arms arent touhing voxels. (planets and asteroids)
No they dont, unless you have changed the default state of unsupported stations. There is no mounthing points between the doors and the frame of the hangar except between the mergeblocks. but it still keeps it all airtight. Take a closer look at the edges of the door and how they connect with the frame and you will see :)
I try to match the width and depth of the hangar with the voxel tool volume. Have arund 7 meters of thicness. Aligh it with the grid and dive down at one of the shortsides and dig all the way to the other shortside. You will need to have voxel tool on before entering the world. Press K when you have the voxel tool scelected in the toolbar below, to change its volume and orientation!

Its really simple contruction. Takes a bit of math to properly set up the mirriored rotors. Build it in space first :P
