Wiki says that 3rd Marines reg. was reactivated on June 16,1942 at New River,N.C as part of the WW2 military expansion.

Don't really get the North Carolina reference (3rd Marines is stationed in Hawaii and Okinawa) or the widowmakers thing, but it's always nice to have your unit represented in a game
