Description


I read a comment by the continuing author of Psionics Re-Expanded about how compatibility between Psi & Culture overhaul would be so hard to do that they did not even recommend the other person to make a compatibility patch of their own which they normally welcome openly.

So for some reason I took that as a challenge and decided to go ahead and do it.

This gives Culture Overhaul ethics their own special civics with effects as well as makes an edit to the Materialist Civic.

Culture Overhaul allows you to have 2 fanatical ethic choices. If you have 2 fanatical ethics and you do go the path of psionic governments then then you will get a civic that combines both of the fanatical civics stats.

I plan on making all the hybrid civics have unique stats and not just take the modifiers of the 2 civics its based on but for the time being the stats are there. Not the final stats but stats that will be there for a while.

Along with the hybrid civic, having 2 fanatical ethics gives your species 2 portraits unique to that ethic combo.
The first image for example, Fanatic Elitist (gold) & Fanatic Naturalist (green) gives your pops either a Green body with a Gold outline or vice versa.

The Civic & Governments currently lack fluff text. I will try to do a "fluffdate" at some unknown future date (probably along with the civic stat shuffle)

Issues?
This was a bit of a sprawling project so its very possible I missed something (other than fluff) so if you find anything please let me know :)

I dont think I add in the psionic city set. Theres cyborg city set?

Helpful addition, the cyborg city and ship sets appear to be overwritten by the psionic city and ship sets at present, as they are the only ones suffering that issue on the city and shipset issue that i have noticed.

getting hit with the psionic entity bug, every time i start a new empire i suddenly have all my pops transform into psionic entities within days of starting the game going, so far normal pops have started growing and i can selectively breed my pops till i get gene tailoring/robomodding but i can't do that for my ships, which are also being changed into psionic variants.

I dont really know what I could do for a bug caused by loading a saved game. All I can say is as you did and start a new one. Thank you for your tests.

I can attempt to do that at somepoint. I was thinkin for Roleplay porpuses. At the least give them the trait but not the portrait :LotusFlower:

Actually I did some new testing without this patch mod, but with Beta Reborn, apparently this mod was causing the issues where loading a save with this mod newly installed seems to cause several bugs with Civics like Syncretic Species, where the bug will add the "Psionic Entity" trait to both Species, and result in the Syncretic Species being listed for Purging.

I think what happens is the game gets confused when loading this mod in a savefile that was not made/created/started without this patch-mod, resulting in the said bugs. Other mods I have don't edit/alter civics/new species and the like, so i'm thinking it's just a wierd bug with how the game handles old saves with this mod newly installed.

All I can say is to avoid it is to always make a new save with this patch-mod, loading old saves seems to screw with it for some reason, at least on my end.

With the portrait and trait thing, I meant it as in a type of alternative so your species original portraits don't disappear.

I see u posted a bug warning on PSE-R after making ur comment here. So did u decide it was a bug on that mods end?

Why remove the portrait+trait from a psionic empire?

I think this mod is making a recent unintended change for Fanatic Ethics for non-Psionic Empires, i've seen several Empires of Plantoid/Humanoid Species who are NOT Psionic have the Psionic Entity Trait And/Or Entity Portrait.. This even happens to MY Empire's Species who don't even have Psionic Theory researched yet.

Note: these Portraits don't even follow the colour matchings and just randomises them, but i'm still somewhat sure this patch-mod is causing it as it's the only patch-mod for PSE-Reborn Beta I have that edits portraits/potential changes to civics/ethics in any way.

Btw, any plan to do a very minor/tiny addon to potentially remove the Psionic Entity portrait+trait from Psionic Expanded + PE-Reborn Beta?

Updated to work with PRER so you can start out as a Psionified Civ fully now.
Sidenote, as a psiocracy at start you are able to pick and choose from any of the civics that require psiocracy.

These civics where designed with the thought that you would only ever get the 3 the game gives you and when making this mod I fallowed suit in my hybrid designs. This will be over powered especially if you have a mod that gives more civic points. Have fun :LotusFlower:

Ethics and Civics Alternative is not made by the same person who grafted Psionics Re-Expanded so it shouldnt be on hold because of it.

Psionic Re-Expanded:Reborn [Beta] is a more "updated" version of PRE but I dont know anything in PRE that would be broken lately anyway outside of the game just saying its outdated. If there is something its unlikely to be anything major.

I'll probably have to make a patch for that to unless the ECA author has changed the ethic names in the code :LotusFlower:
