NTweaks

Description
Check the workshop comments below for a development update!
NTweaks adds several convenient tweaks and augmentations to vanilla gear and gameplay.

Disclaimer: NTweaks contains functions that may be viewed as too powerful or realism-breaking by some players. If you don't like a feature, don't whine to me; simply avoid using it. Have a wonderful day!

NT keys are not bound to anything by default: you must configure them after installing the mod via Configure > Controls > Addon Controls > NTweaks [module]

Key Features
Vehicle Actions
(WIP) Access to various hidden vehicle functions.
Currently only helicopter functions are implemented:
  • Pilot and copilot can eject.
  • Most helicopters that have side doors and/or a ramp should now have the following:
    • Action menu options to operate the left door, right door, both doors, ramp, and benches
    • User action 16 and 17 will toggle the left and right door respectively (or fold the MH-9 benches)
    • User action 18 will operate the ramp
    • User action keybinds can be set in Configure > Controls > Custom Controls

Tactical glasses heads up display (NT HUD)
Put on a pair of tactical glasses and gain access to advanced battlefield telemetry and situational awareness
  • Data from various integrated sensors is conveniently displayed on the bottom right of your heads up display (HUD) including:
Current time, grid location, altitude, azimuth, range to the ground / object at the center of your gaze, and estimated user vital signs.
  • The user can place 3D waypoints on the HUD that will show name and distance to player. To do this, place a marker on your map with two exclamation points (!!) either before or after the marker text (e.g. "!!Point Zulu")
  • Heuristics-based unit-tracking software allows real-time 3D designation of many objects on the battlefield that are within eyeshot, including vehicles, air units, and infantry, as well as differentiation between friend and foe. If a unit moves out of tracking range or behind cover a mark will be placed at its last known location as well as the time (in seconds) since it was last seen.
  • Encrypted shortwave telemetry broadcasting between friendly units on the battlefield means that if any of your battle buddies are also wearing tactical glasses your tracked objects will sync. If any of your squad mates has line of sight contact with a target, that data will be transmitted to other squad members. Additionally, if any member of your squad has a UAV up in the air, targets identified by that UAV will be shared with the whole squad.
  • Digital image intensifying technology allows the tactical glasses, using state-of-the-art passive optical sensors and hardware processing, to act as a pair of full color night vision goggles by approximating daylight levels of brightness and coloring the landscape accordingly.
  • Electrocrhomic glass lenses allow the user to actively change the level of tinting to block out more or less sunlight for maximum battlefield eye comfort.
Before your scream about "muh realism," keep in mind, all of these technologies are completely plausible 15 years from now (which would fit the mid 2030's time period of the game).

Stamina tweaks
Removes and reduces stamina and weapon sway
Note: If you get any bugs related to stamina, press the debug stamina reset key once. If it worked, you should see "Stamina Tweaks restarted" in chat. If that doesn't fix your issue, please leave a bug report!

Folding map
A tweaked version of TAO Folding Map[forums.bistudio.com]
  • Features a toggleable minimap that shows units, map marks / lines, your current grid and time
  • The map stays centered near your location; you can press a key to re-center it and zoom in and out

NSense Weapon Tweaks & Magazines
NSense directly modifies vanilla game weapons to make them a more appealing and combat effective option for use alongside modded weaponry. No longer will vanilla weapons feel like paintball guns when fired!
Vanilla weapons can still use vanilla ammo and will operate nearly the same as normal, but when used with NT ammo these weapons will transform your battlefield performance in the same way that modded weapons do.
Currently supported weapons:
  • All SPAR series rifles and variants

Gear & Items
All item names start with NT in the arsenal
  • Black circle removed from all vanilla night vision goggles
  • Custom Nightstalker Scope
    Zero up to 4000m (100-400m in 100m increments, 400-4000m in 50m increments)
Supports VIS, NV, and TI (green) view modes

Planned Features
  • Additional NSense weapon tweaks
  • Additional vehicle actions and hotkey support
  • Stamina configuration menu (change weapon sway, fatigue, other settings via in-game dialogue)
  • HUD configuration menu (unit tracking color, tracking distances, position of HUD elements, etc.)

Disclaimer & License
NTweaks contains functions that could be viewed as too powerful or realism-breaking by some players—therefore I do not advertise it openly and would prefer that you don't either. If you don't like a feature, don't whine to me; simply avoid using it. This mod is not intended for use in PVP scenarios unless all players are given access to it (to level the playing field).

If I find my mod being used abusively, shared with parties I do not approve of, or being altered / redistributed without permission anywhere other than this Steam Workshop page I'll remove it from the workshop completely and stop updating it. In short: don't abuse the powerful features this addon has to offer.

Unless express permission is given by me, this addon may only be distributed on its workshop page. You do not have permission to include NTweaks in modpacks, copy, alter, or redistribute it in any way. I (Cerulean Nutter) am willing to provide code snippets from NTweaks upon request for educational purposes.

Credits
This mod uses code from TAO Folding Map[forums.bistudio.com] made by Ryan "Taosenai" Schultz[ryanschultz.org]. Credit for that code goes to him, with minor modifications by myself. I assume it's okay to continue his work as his mod is not listed on Steam Workshop, and has not been updated in over 3 years.

This mod uses code from TPW Mods[forums.bistudio.com] made by tpw. Credit for the original code goes to him. Specifically, only the TPW_HUD-related code was used as a base for the NT HUD, and has since been extensively modified and optimized by myself.

NT code is being used, with my permission, in the SST: Opposition mod. If you would like to use some of my code in your mod please reach out to me first!

Update:
Yes I'm still alive, and yes I do still have plans to come back to NT and give the love it deserves someday in the future.
But I can't give you an ETA on that because I've honestly been busy with other things in life and haven't been doing much Arma stuff over the past year+.

So with all that being said, if / when I get to working on NTweaks again there will probably be a full code rewrite for the addon to address the plethora of bugs and feature requests that've piled up.

But in the meantime, because it's been so neglected, if anyone wants to take a look under the hood and use some of my code for your own projects just send me a DM and I can share some of the source code with you.
That's is by no means an authorization for anyone to plagiarize my work or to take over NT; just an open offer to anyone that's learning the ropes!

How do i open the TAO Folding Map from this mod?
There are no configurable controls and the controls from the original mod do not seem to work.
