This mod disable the Giant-Death Robot and The XCOM Squad from normal games, letting you play in the latest age without the Sci-fi components.


Features:
  • The Unit: Giant Death-Robot has been disabled.
  • The Unit: XCOM Squad has been disabled.
  • Related Technologies tooltips have been adjusted to reflect the change when the mod is enabled (see screenshot).


Compatibility:
  • Compatible with Vanilla civilization 5
  • Compatible with Gods and Kings Expansion
  • Compatible with Brave New World Expansion

Troubleshooting:

  • If you have a problem with a mod, the first step is always to test the mod alone before reporting any bugs.
  • All mods from all my collections are compatible together.
  • If you have troubles downloading the mod in game, it's a common cache issue, follow these steps to fix it:
    1) Unsubscribe The mod, exit steam and civ 5 completly
    2) empty your mod folder : C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USERNAME]\My documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS
    3) Delete the 'Civ5ModsDatabase.db' file located at: C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USERNAME]\My documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\cache
    4) Restart steam, subscribe, restart civ 5.

Yeah thanks this is how the game should be played honestly. Raining xcoms on a city within a single turn is boring.

Hi ! This mod only remove Xcom Squad and Giant Robot.

You loose the ability to build paratrooper because they become obsolete once Nanotechnology is researched. Thats the vanilla behavior of the game.

You would need an additional mod to do that, more something like a unit replacement. A mod that replace the XCOM squad with a stronger paratrooper for example.

This mod is very light weight only few lines of codes. A new unit Mod is more complex but yes its doable.

It seems that this mod also prevents you from building paratroops once nanotechnology is researched. Is there a way to fix this?
