Description
Add a powerful melee weapon for the Your soldier.

Somebody would have thought about this.- Why did not anyone make a melee weapon combined with a gun? & why does not XCOM use massive melee weapons like Spear or Glaive? This mode solves the above mentioned drawbacks.


With this MOD you can equip a powerful primary melee weapon in exchange for giving up the gun. Unlike other melee weapons, requires reload because it use Cartridge propellant- However, this equipment can show explosive combat ability in close combat.

DETAIL
The Glaive is the primary weapon for Ranger, PsiOperative and Reaper and Secondary Weapon for Ranger. This weapon allows for a very powerful melee attack in exchange for the complete loss of ranged attacks by these mechanics.
If equipped with this weapon, the following skills can be used instead of the standard fire and overwatch.

1.Massive Melee Weapon
"Add extra melee attack that consumes ammo and guarantees to hit. also deals extra AoE damage around If soldier did not move last turn"
ㄴWield:"Guaranteed hit Attack an adjacent target with your Glaive (Ammo cost=1)
ㄴSwipe: "deals extra AoE damage around If soldier did not move last turn"


2.Built-in firearm Spear
"When equipped as a primary weapon, unlocks the melee alert and long-range shooting and melee Overwatch triggers on enemies within 4 tiles."


If your soldier have a separate primary-firearm skill (example: rapid fire) you can also use that skill with Glaive.



ITEM INFO
Like other primary weapons, the Glaive can also be equipped with upgrade parts. In particular, since Kinetic Strike Modules have Ammo restrictions, unlike other melee weapons - upgraded magazine upgrades that are not favored in general primary melee weapons may be useful.

In addition, if you remove all Chosen, you can create the ultimate Glaive -The exiles.Although most Chosen weapons will be used as raw materials to make this weapon, it will be well worth it.


Tier1 : Glaive
"The Glaves are massive melee weapons that allow fatal melee attacks at the expense of soldier's agility."
(Damage=2, Spread = 1, Crit = 2, Upgrade slot= 1
Critchance = 10%, Shred = 1, Ammo= 2, Rupture= 1, Stunchance=50%)
ㄴWield: (Damage=5, Spread = 1, Crit = 2, Shred = 1, Rupture=1)


Tier2: Arc Glaive
"When pure kinetic energy is no longer sufficient in the field, the Arc Glaive may prove necessary. It boosts the standard Glaive's combat effectiveness with the addition of an electric field and bit's force field."
-Unlocked by research the ADVENT Stun Lancer Autopsy.
(Damage=3, Spread = 2, Crit = 4, Upgrade slot= 2
Critchance = 10%, Shred = 2, Ammo= 3, Rupture= 1,Stunchance=75%)

Tier3: Fusion Glaive
"The Fusion Glaive encases a plasma-heated metallic core in a micro-thin Force field, enabling devastating melee attacks that are capable of setting enemies a flame."
-Unlocked by research the Archon Autopsy
(Damage=4, Spread = 3, Crit = 6, Upgrade slot= 3
Critchance = 10%, Shred = 3, Ammo= 4, Rupture= 3,Stunchance=100%+ chance to fire)
ㄴWield: (Damage=7, Spread = 1, Crit = 3, Shred = 3, Rupture=3)


Chosen Weapon: The Exiles
"With all Chosen's legacy in Our hands, it's now possible to implement a new weapon system that Elder wanted to have. This Glaive is powerful both near and far, dealing devastating damage to enemies without psionic aptitude."
-Unlocked by All Chosen Autopsy research (Assassin, Hunter, Warlock)
-Items consumed: EleriumCore 10, Codex Brain 10
ㄴWield and Swipe are always activated at the same time (regardless of melee distance and last turn).
ㄴGuaranteed critical strike against non-Psionic targets.
ㄴUnlike other Glave, Has Standard shot and Squaresight.

Critchance = 10%, Shred = 3, Ammo= 4, Rupture= 3,Stunchance=100%+ chance to fire)

I'm having an issue, my glaive is not appearing on the primary weapon slot, there is anything I can do? I tried to add it to the class file, as the comments say, but it still didnt appear on the primary weapon slot.

This mod makes my game starts 8s later than usual.
Most mods may slow by 2-3s, but 8 is kind of long.
It may not be anything important, but just so you know.

If you're using this mod and can't find the glaive weapon its because its probably not equippable on any of the classes you have as there are only a few classes in the glaive config that are allowed to equip them. You can change that either by adding the class template allowed to use it in the glaive config or adding the allowed weapon in your specified class config itself.

Example 1: Adding allowed class into the glaive class data config

Click glaive mod in AML, click on config, click on drop down tab and open the class data config

[*CLASS NAME HERE* X2SoldierClassTemplate]
+AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=eInvSlot_PrimaryWeapon, WeaponType="glaive")
+AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=eInvSlot_SecondaryWeapon, WeaponType="glaive")

Example 2: Same as example 1 except you just add it directly in to modded class data

+AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=eInvSlot_PrimaryWeapon, WeaponType="glaive")

I have this mod active in the mod launcher, but I dont see them ingame anywhere. do you have to research a tech or anything for it?

Would it be ok if you can make the old Glaive models into ghost templates so that we can use them for mods like Xskin? ^^;;

Love the idea of this, but how can you make a psionically compatible glowing energy weapon and not let the psionic glowing energy weapon specialists not get a hold of it?
But the sneaky snipers can?

I'm so confused why Reapers are listed as being able to use this and Templars are not. Would love to use it otherwise.
