Description
Dark Striders - Stalk & Strider spear infantry, with vanguard and less armour than Dreadspears (Benefit from Dark Rider buffs)
Witch Elves (Bloodspears) - Anti-large Witch Elves using Wardancer anims, to help flesh out your Death Night hosts
Dread Foot Knights - Armoured, shielded infantry with AP damage (Benefit from Cold One Knight buffs)
Dreadlances - Mid-tier cavalry, that will probably end up more useful than Cold One Knights
Dark Pegasi Lancers - Fast-moving flying cavalry, don't expect them to last in a fight (Benefit from Dark Rider buffs)
Death Night Witches - Mostly for the pun, heavy flying monsters (Benefit from Witch Elf buffs)

A selection of Naggarothi warriors for your enjoyment this Festag. Dread Knights have dismounted to take the phrase 'crush your enemy underfoot' as literally as possible, whilst Dark Riders have taken to extreme measures to get to high places, from climbing to flying there. When the Witch King calls, they are more than willing to go to battle in such a fashion. When Hellebron calls the Death Night, the greatest of the Death Hags will take to the skies on the backs of manticores.

Dread Foot Knights are powerful shielded heavy infantry to fill out your lines of Executioners and Black Guard. The Dark Striders are a cheap, weak vanguard infantry. The Dark Pegasi Lancers are early flying shock cavalry. The Death Night Witches are a much later flying shock cavalry.

As always, open for balancing suggestions. Thanks to Sebidee for his unit modding template and walkthrough

Could be totally wrong here, but it looks like the darkstriders and dreadlances are placed in inverted buildings. That is, the darkstriders are infantry, but recruited from the cav building and the dreadlances are cav, but recruited from the infantry building.

Hello! I did some work on the portraits for these units, because I love the units but thought the portraits needed some work. Would you like to use them, or would you rather I put them in a submod? I wanted to submod, but thought I would offer them to you first because one mod is better than two, so if you like them you're welcome to use them :D

Check them out here.

not mention in combat, sorry last thought xD, if you're a ranged unit or like an imposing unit with a lot of mass to you like black guard, who cares someone tries grab at your cloak, but if your a dude in tight leather wrap armour, last thing you want is a dangling piece of cloth for a skilled combatant (high elves cough cough) to grab and use to their advantage in throwing you off balance.

Feedback, I really like all the units, nothing major I'd say needs to be changed, just one little visual thing about Dark Striders. I'd rather they go full ninja and ditch the cloaks. Cloaks, despite what aestehtics of alot of fantasy lead people to believe, are cumbersome, visually and movement wise restrictive garments. Dark Striders as well I imagine running through alot of underbrush etc, so you don't want cloaks etc when you're light skirmishing unit.

Cloaks on heavier DE units, lords etc I like because status thing at that point and when your in half/full plate who cares if you toss a nice looking bedsheet on your back for show, barely move and see in your armour anyways. Shades...well blame stuff like hollywood for making us think cloaks(or any extra clothing increases your visible profile) are stealthy and that cats drink cow's milk (actually almost are intolerant to it)...anyways lol I think be cool if they didn't have cloaks, just my ranting two cents xD

@singemeister

yeah np! Ok, I tried the compilation mod and unfortunately the same result. Is there an archive somewhere of different versions of this mod for those who wish to retain maximum compatibility?

@Bearzerker

Would you mind trying my compilation mod, see if that's having the same effect?

@singemeister

Same result after trying the trick, still crashing, dammit

@AotKnight

I found another dark elves unit mod that works with "Wood Elves Of The Wild Hunt" Try "Darkborn Elves (Dark Elfs Unit Mod)" It's outdated but works fine if you want to keep using the wood elves mod

As I said, the two don't clash for me, everything loads just fine. Try the ol' unsubscribe, resubscribe, verify integrity of the game cache trick, it might be an improper download.
