Cargo Commander Achievement Guide
By Showboat
A guide to acquiring and attaining all steam achievement for Cargo Commander, both hidden and not. I struggled with figuring out how to unlock some and couldn't find a consistent source of information anywhere, so I decided to make this to help my fellow achievement hunters.

Hints and Tips
Ok - before launching forward and going for the achievements, here are some general hints, tips, and simple advice to help you along and make things easier.
Also, it should be noted that this guide is not a tutorial or full walkthrough. This guide assumes that you, as a player, already know how to play and that you have some measure of experience with the game.

1. Don't achievement hunt until you finish the game via natural progression. Natural progression through the game will automatically unlock many of the items you would normally have to buy from the upgrade bench thanks to ranking up.

2. Caps - unless you're trying to acquire the "Cap Hoarder" achievements, spend those babies once you get 'em! Caps in your inventory are useless; upgrades to your suit and weapons however, will help you survive longer. Spend that money.

3. Try to generally play in sectors with a several rare items. Once you reach the point where you can install scanners, search for random sectors that display 2 or more rare or ultra rare cargo types. Even if you already have those particular types of cargo, the more rare cargo you have is the more cash you have to burn on parcels, and trust me - you're going to need lots of it.

4. Journey mode: A great asset. While you are confined to one sector for longer, if you choose a sector with good loot, it can be very advantageous. Journey mode has no scroungers, longer active times for containers (before they naturally implode) and well dispersed upgrade and console stations. Use outer space to your advantage by drilling open walls level with walking mutants and let them drift gently out into space for easy cap collection.

5. Work Days: They naturally end either when you manually end them via the navigation console or when you die. For quick work days, activate your magnet to pull in your 1st wave, go collect at least one cargo piece, return home, and then manually end the work day. Work days only count when some measure of points are scored so get the fewest that you can and then be done. Useful when trying to acquire parcels (after they've been "delivered" to you).
Standard Achievements
Note: All of the below listed achievements can be obtained by naturally progressing through the game at a normal pace. Any lack of acquisition is likely due to a deficit of playtime or focus on certain tasks.

Let's Begin!

Packing Mule
Acquired by naturally ranking up. Progress through the game naturally to earn.
Bearer of Coffee
Acquired by naturally ranking up. Progress through the game naturally to earn. Earned after "Packing Mule" achievement.
Cargo Commander
Acquired by naturally ranking up. Progress through the game naturally to earn. The last "progressional rank" achievement, earned by collecting all different types of cargo.
Team Building
"Use" 50 corpses of fellow cargo commanders! This is 50 grand total, not in one session.
Eradicator
Kill 20 mutants. This is 20 grand total, not in one session.
Exterminator
Kill 200 mutants. This is 200 grand total, not in one session.
Annihilator
Kill 1000 mutants. This is 1000 grand total, not in one session. All "mutant killing" achievements should be more than easily naturally obtained before reaching endgame.
Parcel Warning
Acquired by receiving all 11 parcels from home. This can only be done after getting the e-mail from your love, indicating that she has discovered the nature of your occupation. The e-mail should arrive naturally via normal game progression and its arrival will "unlock" the ability to obtain parcels 6 through 11.
Additionally, each parcel requires more and more cargo reward money to unlock, so, get into the habit of searching for rare and ultra rare cargo specifically. See the general hints and tips section for more advice.
Fast Learner
Acquired by finding all 10 cargo during the "1st Day" tutorial. If you missed it the first time around, it can still be acquired by replaying the tutorial from the options menu on the main menu screen.
World's Strongest Dad
Acquired by buying every upgrade via the upgrade bench for all weapons, your suit, and tools. This requires many many caps and is most easily acquired on Journey Mode. While in Journey mode, there are no Scroungers and consequently, outer space can be used as a passive weapon against mutants. See the hints and tips section for more advice.
Cap Hoarder
Acquired by collecting 100 or more caps at once. This means you cannot spend them - the caps must reach 100 or more while actively in your "inventory". Time consuming and but not too difficult - see the hints and tips section.
Memory of a Mug
Acquired by exploring 5 containers in a single wave and then returning home without being hit WHILE holding the mug of coffee that sits next to your bed in the home container.
If the mug breaks or is dropped due to being hit, it will respawn beside the bed where you first picked it up.
Also, because 5 containers must be explored in a single wave, this cannot be accomplished either on the 1st wave of any sector, nor in the ORIGO I sector. ORIGO I only has 4 containers per wave.
Tip: A container is considered "explored" as long you've been inside it, even if only briefly. Thus, you should be able to accomplish this by drilling open the outside of a container, ducking in for a second, and then ducking back out to move on to the next one. Just make sure not to run out of air or you'll choke, and take a "hit", dropping the mug.
Health Headshot
Acquired by throwing an apple can against a mutant.
This can be fairly easily acquired. Find a container that has both an apple can and a mutant spawner, stand on top of the apple can with full health, and wait for a mutant to run up and hit you. You should immediately consume the apples and throw the can at the mutant which is still standing directly in front of you.
50 Days on the Job
Acquired by reaching day 50. Should be reached via natural game progression, but if not, days can be quickly passed by racking up some small measure of points and then manually ending the work day via the navigation computer. See the hints and tips section for more.
Multikill
Acquired by killing 5 mutants with one bullet. Can only be accomplished with a six-shooter (to the best of my knowledge) and the increased damage upgrade. Once both have been obtained, find a crystal that spawns the smallest mutants, line at least 5 of them up, and kill them all with one shot.
Hidden Achievements
!SPOILER WARNING!
The few remaining achievements are hidden from normal view and considered either fun tidbits to be discovered or alternatively, related to the plot and the end of the game. Read ahead with that in mind.

Curse Quota Exceeded
Pressing "F" while in game will trigger the curse function. Pressing the button 100 times (in total, IN succession or IN ONE session) or more will unlock this achievement. Easily obtained by simply sitting still and pressing the "F" key over and over again.
Toilet in Space
Acquired by freeing your toilet from the confines of its home container and letting it float off into space. Easily obtained by simply drilling away the floors beneath it in your home container.
Priorities
Acquired by killing a mutant that is inside a container while you are choking in space. Easily obtained by drilling open the outside of a container, waiting til you choke, and then fire a few bullets/nails/shells at a mutant.
Home Sweet Home
Acquired at the end of the game by reaching maximum rank via the acquisition of all possible cargo items and then searching for and traveling to the "Home" sector. Must be typed in manually to find.

That's all of the achievements. I hope this has helped - thanks for reading and thanks for enjoying a great game! Happy hunting.

I was actually close to get 100 caps by exploring a Pass wave... I happened to get into a huge container and it stayed for a very long time, but I realized too late how much I could farm from it... :(

Does cargo i get in "journey" mode carry over to regular mode so I can use that loot to buy parcels?

@Clawer
"TARTARUS" was a nice place to get the "World's Strongest Dad" due both "Blastgun" and "Six-Shooter" being found very early.
And Caps were abundant mainly because of lack of "Belly"-mutants.

Awesome :) I had all but one achievement and I didn't even know what the last one was. Turned out to be surprisingly easy, but counterintuitive. Would never have gotten it by accident :p Thanks :)

Curse Quota Exceeded is indeed 100 F bombs but for the achievement to actually unlock, you need to end the work day once you've got the ~100 or so in. Mostly a heads up for others (like Gracjan down below) who might think that the achievement will unlock instantaneously after the correct amount is hit or surpassed.

I hate when achievements on steam have vague and deceiving descriptions for the sake of being cute and clever that just end up messing with the player for no reason. Thank you a lot for this guide, it should help me get those Playfire achievements in time. :)
