Description




The new Bantam Mk. II Interceptor is a simple upgrade to its original, the Bantam Interceptor, adapted to work with White Dwarf's Eradicator Light Carrier. Unlike the first Bantam Interceptor, its Mk. II counterpart can be individually undocked from its carrier or station, whereas if one Bantam pilot were to attempt to undock their interceptor, all other interceptors would disconnect as well. Another important feature of the Mk. II for that hangar is its automatic shutdown of its central thruster within a certain range of the hangar wall to prevent it from burning a hole in the wall during launch. Other thruster related upgrades were improved nacelles for greater deceleration, and the addition of two more thrusters for lift, giving the craft just enough thrust to maintain altitude in 0.25Gs. The Bantam Mk. II also features the same display layout as the Wolfhound Superiority Fighter, a jumpstart reactor, and comes with a third gatling gun.

Hey. That's a nice design. I noticed a couple of things that you might have already considered and chosen to do deliberately or might be worth thinking about. First is that you can use half armour blocks or even an LCD screen set to grey to protect the rocket launchers and hide the conveyor door that I consider a bit of an eyesore on the side of a ship, though you may disagree. The second is that the main thrust cut out is an excellent feature but it leaves forward thrust very weak. Have you considered adding an additional small thruster behind each missile nacel? You could even add another up thruster in the same place to maintain/improve performance in lunar environments.

None of that is intended as criticism but as potential ideas for a very neat design.
