Finch Beastmaster Class

Description
Adds several summons and animal-themed skills.

Animal Companion summons do not have a time limit. They last until they die or are unsummoned. The only exception to this rule is the Beta Wolf, which despawns 6 turns after the Alpha Wolf summons it.

Many of the Animal Companions have modified/improved skills, so be sure to read their descriptions.

Every skill is a summoning skill.

There is a vendor for these skills at the beach of fort joy, near the waypoint, and inside of the Lady Vengeance next to the respec mirror.

Please let me know if you find any bugs.

As for balance, as I said the dog is quite weak. The alpha wolf on the other hand would probably be considered by most to be a fair bit stronger than most vanilla summons. In general, I think that vanilla summoning mechanics fall off rather early in terms of viability compared to other builds, so the aim with this mod is to have a diverse and powerful build that can thrive in many situations. If you play with this mod, you will probably find that it is fairly powerful early on compared to most vanilla builds, but evens out in power as you reach mid/late levels.

Hi, thanks for the kind words. :)

The Dog Companion is actually quite weak, and not really intended for use in combat (although it can still provide some assistance against weaker opponents.) Its main purpose is to provide an aura that boosts its allies Persuasion and Bartering abilities for non-combat situations. If you're looking for a canine familiar for combat, you'll want to use the Alpha Wolf Companion, which you can get at level one. Its main strategy in combat is to summon weaker beta wolves in order to deal a lot of damage through multiple units.

@Finch - love the mod! I've been craving a War Dog for so long lol. How does the dog stack up against the vanilla summon creature? I love mods, but am always concerned about Balance. Do you find the Dog to be excessively more powerful than the vanilla creature?

Thanks!

Wonderful mod, Finch! Exactly what I have been looking for, but does it work on definative?

Thank you for the kind words. :)

Due to balancing reasons, I do not want to remove the summoning requirements for the animal companions. Perhaps some time in the distant future I could make a separate version of the mod that includes this change, but for the time being I don't anticipate myself adding or changing anything.
