Description
(I just started to give version numbers, so you know, that I worked on it)

v2.1b:
I have good and bad news for you all. The good news: I seem to have "fixed" the door mechanism, so the hangar doesn't explode on opening anymore. The blueprint is undamaged now.

The bad news: Seems like some parts of the hangar door (the corners, where the hangar doors and the hangars are connected) are taking small amounts of damage whenever you open or close the hangar. Doesn't always happen. I tried to lessen the problem by replacing some of the mechanism's blocks with heavy blocks and changing some parts of the whole hangar.

I will try to improve it this week but I don't know if I can make it. The recent updates seem to have changes something about physics/force and collision models. Ruined a lot for me.


DESCRIPTION

- Faction: Stellar Confederation
- Class: Large Fleet Carrier

- 33000 PCU
- 9100 blocks

The Europa Class Carrier is my middle size fleet carrier. It has a large, airtight hangar hatch and can hold lots of fighters and even larger ships like my Silverfield Gunboat.
The Carrier has 40mm Bofor Turrets to defend itself from enemy bombers. It has no large ship cannons.

LOADOUT:

- ion thrusters
- 4x hydrogen tanks (for refueling fighters and other ships)
- lots of o2/h2 generators
- 4x large reactor
- 3x jump drive
- 16x cryo chamber
- 2 x medical room
- refineries, assemblers, modules etc.
- lots of different lcd displays with detailed information about your ship
- etc..

Hangar
You can open and close the hangar by using the button panels in the hangar or the control station in the hangar control room (just follow the signs).

- whenever you start the opening sequence, the hangar will first depressurize for 7 seconds, before the hatch opens.
- opening sequence is indicated by blinking orange warning lights

Mods: "Battle Cannons and Turrets DX11" (no other mods used. The hangar hatch is vanilla.)

The ship is quite finished but I always tend to upgrade/fix my ships from time to time.

Regular hangar flaps (like large doors that swing open) would be possible with rotors and blast doors, but the hangar wouldn't be air tight, then. Can't think of another way at the moment.

That really sucks, cause that is just a beautifull design you've made... I wonder if i can just place another kind of door so i can still use the hangar, for small drone ships. Seems a waste if it cant be used.

It's a feature, not a bug!

Jokes aside. The current game engine makes it impossible for me to fix this. Makes me sad, because it worked like a charm when I first uploaded it.
