The MCF- 930 "Tradewind" (Stock Freight)
HUD ID: (MCF-930)
Hull symbol: AK

The core of EHI's business has always been the civilian market, providing commercial and industrial solutions across the entire spectrum. It is no surprise that EHI's early success is owed to the popularity of the humble Modular Cargo Freighter. Nine iterations later with the MCF-900 series, EHI continues to provide its customers with a flexible, high-quality, and affordable solution for all commercial freight applications. As the current flagship product of the MCF line, the Tradewind is nearly constantly upgraded as new technologies become available.

Overview:
The core components of the Tradewind are its command module- which houses the crew cabin, and engineering module- which houses its main powerplant and jump drives. Designed to comfortably sustain three crew members for an extended duration, the command module is fully capable of acting as a light freighter on its own. Combined with and engineering module, the Tradewind quickly becomes a very robust vessel capable of pulling huge amounts of cargo.

The rest of the Tradewind is comprised of a series of Modular Freight System (MFS) cargo pods, linked together in a a "string." This string can consist of any combination of cargo pods, vehicle transporters, or even additional engineering modules. This system allows for entire groups containers to be pre-loaded and prepped for transport before the Tradewind arrives. The command module can then simply attach itself to the new string and continue its route. This allows for extremely rapid turnaround time, as well as customization to meet the needs of specific missions.

Whip's Turret Based Radar

IMPORTANT:
As this ship is much much longer than it is wide, this ship when assembled tends to have very pronounced roll characteristics versus yaw or pitch. Increasing the length of the string pronounces this effect further.

Author's Note:
This ships has a subgrid that consists of only a single connector block attached to the end of the docking piston. This ship can still be easily built via projector.

There is a lot of potential and room to grow here. I see possibilities for refining and manufacturing pods, transporter pods to move squadrons of assembled starfighters, passenger pods, possibly even Q-ship style combat pods. Follow me for updates, as I will likely release blueprints for some of these, but I'd love to see what other people come up with. Remember, that the form factor of the existing pods is not set in stone. I chose the current size and shape simply based around what would house two 3x3x3 large containers.

Which versions the the command and engineering sections were used for this and the refinery ship? Same as the individual components?
